Crank it up!!

just thought i'd start a separate thread since he's likely gone tomorrow Cry

anyways i was thinking of all of the possibilities.  we know tuna's looking for a late 1st rounder, but i was thinking of possible straight up player for player trades (which are very rare these days).  i'll get the ball rolling with two - keep adding!

Lito Sheppard - Philly wants to dump Lito after signing Assante (don't know why, ditch sheldon and you'll have one of the best CB tandems in the leage).  how about a straight up swap??  We need major help at that position (2x All-Pro), and Philly definitely needs a game changing defender in the trenches.

Ocho Cinco - Very disgruntled.  Sure, our offense is a work in progress, but we definitely have a clear direction and will be competitive in the near future.  Chad was caught on camera telling Parcells to "call me!".  He's from Florida, and as long as he gets his touches and wins, he'll keep his mouth shut.  Besides, who doesn't love his TD celebrations?  Cincy needs a player like JT, and we need a WR like Chad. Do it!

I was thinking of the Taylor/Sheppard deal the other day when the Eagles were mentioned as one of the few teams interested in JT.

The Eagles are rumored to want a 1st round pick for Sheppard, but have no trade leverage, since they signed Samuel and have said they want to trade Sheppard.

I'd do it.

The thread asked for trade ideas. He's entitled to his idea, just like you are entitled to yours. I don't think it would be a good trade for the Fins. But like I said, he's entitled to his idea, so no need to talk down to him for expressing his opinion.

No. If he's going to go, it's got to be to a contender. I like the Eagles or Bengals scenerios. What about Dallas for a WR, or DB?

The Jags are contenders.

I was never a fan of Brady Quinn, but if Cleveland thinks Derek Anderson is the real deal and wanted to shop Quinn, then why not?  This guy was a projected top 5 to 10 pick and all we ever hear about is how we need to get young and we need help at the QB position.  If Taylor is worth a 3rd-4th rounder and we could get a potential future QB that was a first round pick, while Cleveland could get needed help on defense, I dont get why we wouldnt entertain the idea.

They won't shop Quinn this offseason.  Savage is smarter than that, Cleveland would be foolish to wash their hands of Quinn without seeing another season of Derek Anderson.  If Anderson is the same quarterback in 2008 that he was in 2007, they'll take offers for Quinn.  But not now.

The Jags are contenders.

The Jags are most definately contenders.  The one thing they didn't have in the playoffs, was a good pass rusher.  They get an elite pass rusher, they could be Super Bowl bound.  Jason Taylor probably gives Jacksonville that advantage to capitilize on their Super Bowl window.  Jacksonville SHOULD give up their first round pick.  It's not like they need it, but the reality is the best we could get from Jacksonville is a 2nd and a 4th.  Or, if you really want to get creative, both of Jacksonville's third round picks.

I wouldn't do it for 2 more 3rd rounders.  I like the Sheppard idea.  Also ocho-stinko.  Ideally, i would like a first round pick though.  And Jax is a bigger contender than Philly and the Bungles and like I mentioned in another thread, they would benefit more from an elite pass rusher than a rookie that will take a couple of years to develop.

Why are we so sure that a trade with JT is inevitable?  ...just because the draft is coming?

Parcells says that JT will be a Fin unless he retires.  Do you guys have other info?

Where there's smoke, there's fire.  I honestly believe that Jason Taylor does not want to go through another rebuilding process in Miami.
