None of the above, I believe he will hold out all year or retire.

The best they could probably get for him would be a third rounder, IMO.  If they don't trade him, I don't see him playing for the Dolphins because there is too much bad blood now.

Voted third rounder or less, given that he's 34 and may only want to play one more year.  Some team that's close will make an offer come training camp, because he's just too good and there're only like 5 elite pass rushers in the league of any age, but it'll take a while.

Modified the poll to reflect this option.

I voted retire. No way taylor ever plays for the dolphins again. He's obviously positioning himself for life after football. Even if he bombs out in hollywood one of these major networks will hire him as analyst.

I put retire as well.  Nobody's gonna give up a 2nd or 1st rounder for a guy who will play two more years at most, and it seems the Dolphins won't take anything less.

Fuck him. He went from one of my Fav players to a turd.  Hes played over a decade here. He could end up in the HOF and retire a Miami Dolphin. He signed a contract and wants to back out so he can go somewhere else and get all the Glory.  I think the Tuna is playing this perfect. Force him to retire. Just like he forced Jake Long to settle for less $$ in the draft.  Would you want to face Jason Taylor at all knowing all we got as a 3rd or 4th rounder?  By taking him out not only assures that we will get at least a first rounder.........we assure other teams won't get him as well. Kind of like Causing a missed field goal. Its 3 points we don't have to score now to catch up.

I voted third rounder or conditional... I don't see Ireland letting a potential 3rd rd pick in next year's draft retire without any compensation. As the moment for Jason's "retirement decision" gets closer, Miami's price will drop to where it needs to be to get a deal done.

I think someone will bite on a 2nd or 3rd for a player of JT's caliber even if its only for 2 years before the season starts

I said that I think he will play.  I don't know if I really believe that, but I do think that a lot can happen before the season starts.  Things may patch up.

I wonder if Parcells really wants him.  If he retires, he doesn't have to pay him, so maybe that's something to do with it.

Defense, I don't get you.  The guy labored here for 11 years with moslty no help, and he's a turd for saying enough's enough?

People leave jobs with contracts all the time.  If you remove the emotion from the argument, there's nothing wrong with wanting to go out on top; it's what we all want in life.  Taylor was part of 1 rebuilding / franchise turnaround 10 years ago.  Then management screwed him and screwed the team all up.  I can't fault him for wanting to end it on a winner instead of helping to set up success he'll never get to taste himself.
