When you're a professional athlete (or any celebrity for that matter), and you're hanging out in a public bar at 2 am... you're ASKING to get hassled.

That's not true.  Why are we blaming the victim here?

Just because you're out flaunting your money doesn't mean that you deserve to get robbed.

There may be more to this, and I'm reserving judgment, because we don't know anything about it, but just because he was out partying doesn't mean he's at fault.

I heard he was spraying down patrons with champagne. While that doesn't deserve beating or getting robbed, one cannot go out and act a fool and invade other people's space without pissing someone off.Especially when you have 50 mil in the bank and you are a high profile athlete/entertainer,it makes you an automatic target for low lifes and money grubbers.I think some of that is what happened to Pac Man Jones here in Nashville, people knew he had a volitale temper and would go after him just to get a few bucks later in court.

It also could be that it didn't happen just because he was out partying.  He had to have walked outside a casino then walked onto a side street to get to where he was at.  What the hell could a professional athlete with a multi-million dollar contract be doing on a side street in Las Vegas at 3 a.m.  There are nothing but hookers and drug dealers there.  That area is BEHIND all the casinos.  I'm reserving judgement as well, but it doesn't look like he got beat up because he was partying.

Whew........I'm glad your reserving judgement........ Roll Eyes

I just hope your not on the jury if they find the asshole responsible..............

Last time I checked side streets were public domain. And you say you have no Preconceived notions!? WTF are you kidding!? That above statement is about as racist as it gets.  Indifferent

Because people will want to flock to a celebrity.   That's why.  It's like leaving your door unlocked when you leave your house.  Sure, you don't deserve to get your house broken into, but it makes it that much easier for someone to do it if you leave your door unlocked.
