If the Marlins make the playoffs on that payroll, Larry Beinfest will have his pick of GM jobs this offseason.

I have to eat crow on this one. I was hard on Fredi Gonzalez with the way the Marlins handled his firing. I predicted gloom and doom.
If the marlins get into the playoffs, they are going to the World Series. In about a week, their pitching staff should be top-notch and Cody Ross is playing his @*# off.
The Marlins keep proving that you can do more with less.

We signed Paul Lo Duca to a minor league deal today. He's going to be in AAA Albuquerque and we will probably see him for some roster depth once September 1st hits, and the roster expands. Overall I think it's a solid move because he is definitely better than Hoover's punk ass. It's going to be interesting to see how Treanor holds up after coming back from the groin injury.
Anibal needs to have a better showing on Monday against the Cards. He didn't have much control at all versus the Philies 2 days ago. If he bounces back and has a game like last week, we will be right on the money.
I'm not sure if anyone noticed but we just took 2 of 3 from the Philies on the road without hitting a single home run in the process. We are looking more legit by the day. These next two series are important (NL East and Wild Card) and must win for the Marlins.
