Looking back on Ernest Wilford's career?

Sitting in the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium press box (by the way when did Alltel lose its sponsorship?) and I'm listening to the Jaguars' radio stadion pregame show and guess what they're playing?

Highlights of Ernest Wilford's four-year career here. I'm all fuhklempt.

Thus far, his highlights with the Dolphins are his dreads and post-practice interviews. It's time he steps up and shows that he could be a dependable receiver on a kiddie corps that screams for leadership.

Thus far in camp, he rarely creates separation and when he does he drops the ball. He did make a few more plays since Chad Pennington's been delivering the rock. Derek Hagan has taken his starting spot and rookie Davone Bess is on heels.

Expect Wilford to get some early looks tonight. Ditto for young WRs Anthony Armstrong and Bess, who coach Tony Sparano wants to make up his mind on. Bess is destined for slot duty this year. Armstrong also returns kicks and Sparano loves roster flexibility.

Tough test tonight.  Curious to see if Pennington runs the offense smoothly or has a few hiccups like some false starts and miscommunicating with his receivers.

Also, anxious to see the 'rook' Chad Henne and that rocket arm again. Sadly, I don't think we'll see much of Josh McCown or John Beck. Beck will probably get some play next week so they could showcase him for a trade. He actually has looked better this week now that the pressure is off. Beck has thrown some beautiful deep balls.

Lets hope Ronnie Brown gets about 8 carries and shows no ill effects from his knee.

The Jaguars are deep on both sides of the ball but have lots of starters out with nicks. They have a dynamic RB duo in Maurice-Jones Drew and Fred Taylor, although Taylor may or not play.

Enjoy the game.
