Dolphins sign former Rutgers offensive tackle Pedro Sosa

DAVIE - The Dolphins signed former Rutgers offensive tackle Pedro Sosa on Monday.

Sosa, who is 6 feet 4, 300 pounds, started 38 games for the Scarlet Knights. He was a two-time second-team All-Big East selection.

He entered his senior season projected as an early second-day draft pick, but tore the patella tendon in his left knee during the season. He finished out the season playing with the injury but re-injured it during practice for the East/West Shrine game.

The knee was surgically repaired in January, and according to Sosa's agent, Harold Lewis, Sosa's doctors say the "knee is at 100 percent."

Sosa, who played left tackle for the Scarlet Knights, worked out for the Dolphins last month.
