I am hoping the moderators can put a poll up for this question.
What is a bigger win for Miami. The win against Baltimore in 2007 to avoid going winless or week three win over New England in 2008 ?
I have thought about it and I believe it's the win against New England, why? I feel it will build confidence in a young team and that can propel this team in an upward manner. Of course avoiding a winless season was big but when we won the game the season was way over for the dolphins. Miami stands 1-2 which means the season is far from over. What do you think?

It's premature to ask this question after only 3 games.  Compare these games at the end of the season when you fully understand the impact of both.

Today's win. No question. I cried when we beat the Ravens, but we scored first in this game, and never looked back. Against the Ravens, I was saying "OMG WE WON!!!!" I did not cry today. I was too busy cheering.

But this game, I was saying "Now, I want the defense to score a TD!"

And, Sparano got a Gatorade bath. And he deserved it because he got a VERY convincing win over the Pats. Last year, it was 2 bad teams, and one was going to win.

Sorry..Last year's win was great, but today was huge on so many levels.

Unless we don't win another game this year, I'd say it's definitely last year's game.

In the grand scheme of our franchise, this win will most likely mean nothing.
The win against Baltimore will go in the record books and keep us from being the worst ever.

You're such a pessimist, Dave. Today, we broke our road losing streak, AND the Patsie's regular season winning streak.

Look, I love this message board, but that doesnt mean that I'm going to say "Yeah we won...Buuuuuttt!"

Not going to happen for me. We WILL win other games this season, and I look forward to wining the Superbowl in a few years, and giving you crap for being so pessimestic i n THIS season.  Grin

I don't understand your response and wonder if you understand the question.  The question was which game was a bigger win.  How is picking last years game pessimistic?  Who said "yeah we won...... but"?

Frimp, I'm not being pessimistic at all.  I don't understand your point.

In short -- In 10 years, we'll still remember the Ravens win.  We won't remember the Pats win.  That's why.

If we can beat the Pats in NE, you don't think we can beat the Chiefs, 49ers, Rams, etc?  Come on - if we lose all those games, it'll be sad.

I think this was a big win, as a confidence booster for a solid young team.  I hope they can parlay it into more things to come, but they can't keep going to the well on that one play every game.

No doubt as we speak.......the Baltimore game.  1-15 is light years ahead of 16-0.

Last year's, easy. On the brink of a historic 0-16, erased with that one win. Like Dave said, years later no one will care about today's game.

I go with last years too.  The pressure to win was as bad as the opposing team we played.

I still can't help but feel the Pats were destined to lose one big and we happened to be the ones to do it mostly becuase we flew in under the radar.  It happens to teams every year.  Which team are we? The team against the Pats or the team against the Cardinals? We certainly have lost that eliment of surpise.

This was an important win for building confidence in this years team. In the scheme of things, I think last year;s was bigger because I expect this team to win more games, but the Ravens win kept us from being winless for an entire season.

Putting the current 49ers in with the Rams and Chiefs tells me you aren't paying much attention to them so far this year. The 49ers are going to win as many games this year as both combined...and they are going to give Miami a home loss in week 15. Grin

[/end sidetrack]

Last year's lone win was bigger than this one...

Why are people acting like it's a big deal to beat NE?

Belichick is 8-7 vs. MIA since he took over the Patriots.

Err I thought I commented on this last night..where's my response?

Last year's Win was much bigger....This isn't even a top ten win in our franchise....It's a good win for the team,this year..our first win...but that's it...IMO...

Anyone remeber opening day against Denver a few years ago,how about against Carolina...thiose were shocking wins for us then...Now in the grand scheme of things.....Not so much...They are just wins...

The Baltimore game last year was a franchise historic win...
