Marvin Lewis must be desperate.

I believe in giving people second and third chances but besides all the allegations against Benson, lets stick to football.

Cedric Benson is not pro football material. I think he knows that.

Like others before him, Tony Mandarich, Steve Entman, Quentin Coryatt and Todd Marinovich, Benson just cannot grasp the pro game. Even when he's on the field, he hasn't looked that interesting.

Cedric Benson is not a good RB.

The problem in Cinci isn't their running backs, it is their O-line. If their O-line was two notches better, Chris Perry would be all they really need at RB. I think Benson is a security blanket in case Kenny Watson's injury recovery stretches out.

I thought he was still in jail.  Isn't Shaun Alexander still available?

Shaun is, but he is toast... imo, I really don't expect him to play again in the NFL.

Benson to the Bengals is like sending Carnie Wilson to McDonald's.  Holy unholy.

I think Benson still has a shot at being decent (I said decent not great), but his window is about a half inch from closing.

If they're that desperate I'd be happy to give them Run Ricky Run for a pick or player.

How in the heck does Steve Entman fit into this?  Injuries ended his career, before it really got started.  Coryatt was a decent LB, but not what you wanted for a 2nd overall pick.

Why not use R.Jay Soward  instead?

There was a reasonable chance that we could have had Benson instead of Ronnie.  In fact, if it weren't for his similarities to the guy we got burned by (Ricky), we probably would have had him.

Jesus Christ.
