Do You Believe in the Dolphins?

Miami has consecutive wins for the first time since 2006.  Not only is Miami .500, they beat the Chargers and Patriots back to back.  The Chargers and Patriots played in the AFC Championship game last year.  Okay, they have some injuries, but I'm still impressed. 

Before I get too excited, I remind myself that Miami began the season with a pretty poor week 1 against the Jets and a horrible week 2 against the Cards.  Should I just ignore those games and look at recent performance?  Can I believe in these Miami Dolphins? 

Recent history tells me not to trust this team, but it's so tempting.  I want to believe, I really do.  Part of my reluctance is that I'm much more logical than emotional.  I base my expectations on history, statistics, matchups, etc.   But nothing makes sense with this team.  They are beating teams they should lose to, and losing to teams they should beat. 

Enough waffling, I'm in.  I think we are a good team, not great, but a good team.   Go Dolphins.

I voted for "...need to see some more." I have been VERY impressed with the way Miami has played the past two weeks, but I'd like to see a few more games in a row where they play with this kind of heart and this kind of balls.

   I voted for I've always believed in this year's Miami Dolphins....I predicted this team would win 9 games this season, and I am very confident they will win AT LEAST that many games!!!

  They have Bill Parcells (fucking genius) running the show, MUCH MUCH better coaching with Tony Sparano and staff, and have brought in some key free agents like Chad Pennington, Jason Ferguson, Randy Starks, Justin Smiley etc.....they  also put together a GREAT draft class (thanks to Parcells/Ireland/Sparano) and not to mention the brilliant trade for Anthony Fasano and Akin Ayodele.

I have a theory.  The reason for the poor start was simple.  This team lacks talent, and is making up for it in preparation and execution.  The first two weks opposition teams were still anomalies, now we have enough information to prepare properly, take away their strenths and use ours to their maximum.

I think we are a below average team, punching above its weight with a hearty mix of hard work on and off the field, solid preparation and game planning and good execution

I voted that I need to see more.  I want to believe in this team so badly..... but if they lose to Houston next week, the last two wins mean diddly squat.

I always believed they would go 8-8 this season.........but to tell you the truth I didn't think we could beat such a explosive offense like SD. My heart said yes and my head said no.  I don't know how much more we can suck out of this wildcat scheme and the Ronnie Brown show but our defense is also playing some killer football.  I didn't think our Dbacks had it in them. What does Bill Parcells do to motivate People? Just incredible.   I'm a believer . Always have been and always will.

I didnt have a prediction for games won this year for the fins. I was of the mind set that it didnt matter. I believed this was the first of a few rebuilding years. I expected a few wins.

I find myself shocked that I was so wrong. If Brett Favre didnt complete that lucky hail marry duck in the first game the fins would be 3 and 1 right now. This is Sporanos and Parcells team now and it shows. These guys are having fun out there which is a far cry from what has been seen in years.

I truely believe that Jimmy Johnson destroyed this team with all the negativity and the ego that came with him. Even after he left his ghost was still around with Dave Wanstad. Obviously Nick Saban and Cam Cameron just were around for a blink of an eye. This team now has a sense of identity with Parcells and Sporano.

As much as I loved JT and Thomas it was the right thing to do. The new guard wanted a new way of thinking in the locker room. they have these guys believing that they can win and they are. Beating two damn good teams back to back isnt luck. These guys are for real.

  I predicted that the team would get seven wins this season, but I figured that the wins would start coming later on in the season.  This team could be back sooner than we all thought.

I've always believed that this team was for real (to the ridicule from a few posters on this site since I came aboard).  I predicted 10-6 and I still see that.  I think the reason we sucked out the first two games was our team had not gelled yet and I still think they can gel a little more.  Merling and Langford have improved their skills since the season opener, that makes Porter a more viable threat with teammates playing at his intensity, not to mention Roth seems to have adjusted nicely to the OLB position.  With all the pressure our front seven get, it has made our secondary better.  Our OL has made leaps and bounds since the opener and are starting to really punch teams in the mouth, and cut down on the stupid penalties.  A lot of our rookies seem to be adjusting to the speed of the NFL.  The most surprising thing to me is Ronnie Brown's play...I didn't think he'd be playing at this level so soon.  It's exciting to watch him and Ricky with that 1-2 punch.  Now if only the rest of our WR can play like Camarillo, Fasano, and Martin we should be in good shape.
