THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

« on: October 12, 2008, 05:03:01 pm »

Ok, here's where we stand now:

We're 2-3

we have several teams we're going to be competing with in the wildcard.

SD, Indy, Bal, Cle, NYJ, Buf, NE

SD we have wildcard tiebreakers for, Bal we can get if we beat them, but it seems impossible to overtake six of these teams.

So one question I have is, should we shelve the wildcat for this season, and break it out again in 2009, when we'll be playing for a playoff spot?

Also, is Chad Pennington going to be our 2009 quarterback.  I think we need to make that decision soon.

2-3 with the 2 wins come against last years AFCCG teams you can't call the season over.

"What's that? Uh -- Playoffs? Don't talk about -- playoffs? You kidding me? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a game!"

I hope you're not suggesting that we stick our rookie quarterback in now... that would be a HUUUGE mistake IMO.

play for the playoffs, at least with this we will know where we stand going into next season and we will really see what we need to improve on in terms of the positions we need upgrading.

Where did Cleveland come from? Throw Denver in there. They are winning the divison though.

I think that you should play to the playoffs.  We have a "culture of losing" that we need to turn around.  That's more important that getting young guys reps or getting a better draft pick.

I think we should play every game to win, especially this early in the season.

I think young guys develop more when they're on a team that's playing good football. Even if that means they don't get as much playing time.

I think the DB's need to start playing like their jobs are on the line.... because they are.

You play each game to win it.  Period.

Why do we need to decide NOW who's going to be the QB next year?  Wouldn't it be wiser to decide that in training camp, like, umm, NEXT YEAR?

The question is, do we turn Chad Henne loose next year if he proves he is ready?   And if so, what do we do with Chad Pennington?
