I've actually been accused of racism for using that phrase.  Apparently my roommates from the concrete jungle, which they referred to as "the hood", didn't have much use for shovels growing up.

Its amazing. When Pennington was with the Jets, everyone used to make fun of his arm strength and say he had none. Now all of the sudden, because he's a Fin, people want to say he has great arm strength. I admire his leadership and think it was a wise pick up, but come on. Lets call a spade a spade.

MY GOD, THANK YOU Philly.

Deal with it people, C.P. is what he is.

O.K. back on topic...

Pennington might not throw bombs but he is the most accurate passer ever in the NFL.  Look what he has done with this sad sad cast of receivers. Can you imagine him next year with a few decent draft picks and a free agent or 2?

He's smart and makes good decisions. I'll take that over a perfect physical specimen who doesn't know his ass from his elbow any-day of the week.

So with Roy Williams in the fold, what does this do for Patrick Crayton and Miles Austin?

Well if Erasmus did not misquote the ancient Greeks then there would be no confusion.

The only spade I know is the kind on a deck of cards.  Spades is one of my favorite card games.

Pennington might not throw bombs but he is the most accurate passer ever in the NFL.

Wow - spin much?

Pennington isn't even the most accurate passer THIS YEAR.

Completion Percentage, 2008 season:
Brett Favre - 71.3%
Drew Brees - 71.0%
Kurt Warner - 69.9%
Chad Pennington - 68.6%

Take it a step farther:
Yards per completion, 2008 season
Philip Rivers - 14.6
Tony Romo - 13.2
JT O'Sullivan - 13.0
Gus Frerotte - 12.7
Jake Delhomme - 12.6
Drew Brees - 12.5
Matt Ryan - 12.5
JaMarcus Russell - 12.3
Ben Roethlisberger - 12.2
Eli Manning - 12.0
Aaron Rodgers - 11.9
Chad Pennington - 11.7
Trent Edwards - 11.7

Pennington is 12th in the league in yards per completion.  He doesn't exactly fling the ball down the field with those kinds of numbers.

Edit to add - Pennington being #1 in completion percentage doesn't mean much IMO if Jamie Martin is #2 on that list, by 0.2%

Let's all hand pick stats to make our dumb argument look better.

Pennington is 4th in YPA and 9th in DVOA.  Pretty stupid to say that he can't get the receivers the ball. Also pretty impressive in your completion percentage stats, the 3 people ahead of pennington have 6,6,and 5 interceptions where CP only has 2.

^^^  You were right....Chad Pennington is the NFL's All-time best QB when it comes to completion percentage with a 65.3% completion rate.
