The biggest problem with Autism in my opinion , is that it comes in so many different levels and forms. With some its barely a handicap. others they will go bonkers at the flip of a switch. With such a large degree of difference people abuse the title instead of just dealing with what is essentially a bad kid. A kid that just needs a kick in the ass. I see it all the time when I bring little johnnie home at 3AM after breaking into all the neighbors cars . Oh I'm so sorry......its his ADD.    No. Its becuase you and your sad excuse of a partner have no idea where your Kids at and you are making excuses for the little POS.  There is no auto pilot on this Toy. You had them now take respnosibility. And if I'm not mistaken, Barack Obabma said that very same thing last night. Time to take away the video games and shut off the TV and be PARENTS.  Thats why he is getting my vote. He is in touch with what needs to be done.  As a Police officer I really feel he will make a difference.

No your confused. I never said they were one and the same or anything alike. Its just another form of mental disorder that gets used as an excuse for criminal behavior.

Oh Absolutely is IS NOT a learned behavior anymore then homosexulality is. Your Born with it. But I do believe alot of children are improperly diagnosed with it and that bad Parenting is probably the results of the behaviors they are exibiting.

Yes, he has Down's.  McCain was talking about autism due to the "explosion" of cases in recent years.  He was trying to hit a hot button.

I know that's what he was doing, but unless I misunderstood what he was saying (which is entirely possible) he was bringing Palin into this and her work with her autistic handicapped child. I kind of went huh?

I didn't take it that he was confused.  I just thought that was the example he used because he feels Autism is on the rise. He certainly isn't the only person to feel that way.

The way it came across, probably because of the wording was she understood it because she was dealing with it, but like I said, with everything being thrown around last night, it is entirely possible that it was mixed up in my head as I was listening to it all and trying to sort it out

Autism is infantile PTSD.  The only way to treat it is by changing the child's environment and treating the dysfunction that exist with the child's parents. 

Autism is infantile post-traumatic stress disorder?  Wow.

That's too general of a question.  You can't answer that in such a broad term. Depends on the Mental disability , the severity of the disorder and of course the crime.  But that wasn't my point at all. I'm saying there are perfectly fine kids that are using these mental disorders conveniently as an excuse. Parents are using them as well instead of just admitting they are just really shitty parents.

Did anybody find it weird that McCain kept saying he was "proud" of Palin.  It's not a big deal or anything, but it strikes me as kind of a weird word to describe a president/VP relationship.
