According to NFL sources Joey Porter is on mark to break the NFL Sack record of 22 1/2 sacks currently held by The Giants Mike Strahan.  Porter currently has 10 1/2

Scenario: December 28th At the Jets. Say Joey Porter is tied at 22 1/2 and both Miami and the Jets are not in a play off scenario.  Do you think Farve takes a dive for Joey Porter like he did for Strahan?  Roll Eyes

Absolutely.  Right now Brett has 455 sacks and is in 7th place, by then he should have passed Moon at 458, that could be the sack that propels Farve past Bledsoe at 467 and put him in 5th place.

I certainly hope not, If so, I hope Joey pulls up and lets someone else get the sack, so Favre will take a dive on every play.

I don't think Farve and Porter are good friends like Farve and Strahan.

Why not? Farve sells out cheap. He will sell out if Porter bought him an ice cream cone.

I would love it if Farve plays it straight and Porter slams his ass. Then he tells the Press afterwards in true Porter like fashion That Strahan was Farves Bitch.   Cheesy

NFL Sources? It's just counting brah  Grin

Very unlikely he keeps up this pace, but he did already tie his career high in sacks. 20 is possible, just needs a sack per game. Easier said than done, but it isn't the craziest thing in the world.

What was Taylors High? 16 -17 a season?  As long as he's filled those shoes I'm a happy Camper.

Jason had 18.5 in 2002.  So, Joey could be Miami's single season sack leader by the end of this year.  Right now, JT and Bill Stanfill share that record.

I think he has filled them right now. Jason was a great player and teammate, but what this team needs is an obnoxious loudmouth like Joey who kills it on the field, and then talks trash. This gives everyone a sense that they SHOULD win more than 3 games. He says dumb shit sometimes, but his guarantee of a victory against New England was what turned this season around. Not only did Miami win, but Joey had 4 sacks and a forced fumble, he backed up his mouth. That goes a long way in the NFL, just as guaranteeing shit and having it not happen can kill you in this league.

^ YES! I"m glad someone said it...when you played a 3-4 your entire career and switch to a 4-3, what would you think would happen?  Joey is a hybrid-type player...in a 4-3 he's all coverage, the d-line is for rushing the qb...in a 3-4 he can wreak some havok like he's doing this year.
