I think the national ratings generally reflect the interest here...not a lot of people cared.  Which is really too bad!

Wish it had gone longer.  I miss baseball already.

At the risk of sounding bitter (which at this point I don't really care), that was a joke of a world series...for it to be settled the way it was after a delay is pretty shitty...props to the Phillies for being the better team...screw you umps for not doing your jobs very well...I hate the Phillies about as much as I hate the Red Sox now...ugh

Tenshot13 - you can't not experience true joy as a baseball fan without knowing true pain.  Being a fan of a team that has only been around 11 years just doesn't cut it...if you follow my logic.  Sure 10 of those years sucked.  But the Red Sox have had 10+ bad years in a row, too.

Young franchise in the playoffs?  That's pretty special.  And now you get to become a card carrying member of a very special club.

You're now a fan that has had your heart ripped out in the WORLD SERIES.

I know people that are fans of teams that never GO to the World Series.

^ I understand what your saying and you have validity in it....but it just happened like twenty minutes ago and I'm still pissed...I think the Rays will be back at the dance eventually, it just seemed very lackluster after the ALCS and NLCS for it to end in such a shitty matter...if it was a game played in its entirety in one day then I'd still be a little let down, but not to this extent...it almost feels like a screw-job....well there's always next year  Sad

And now, my friend, you're officially a card carrying member!  That is the most painful phrase to utter after a loss like that.

I just hope you don't need to go 34 years like I did before a banner is raised over the Trop!

Why is that? WTF do people want to see? The same F'in teams in the WS every damn year!? There are storied franchises in every sport, if that's all people want to see, then why have all them damn teams, just contract 'em all.  pffffff

I feel this series was a lot like the 2000 Subway Series in that it ended in 5 games, but it was really competitive. Probably the best series since 2002 seeing as how the last 5 World Series have been sweeps or filled with bad baseball.

Congrats to the Phillies

to Tenshot: The phrase "there's always next year" was my standard late September/early October from about 1986 to 2004. For my grandfather, about 1932 to 2004, The Rays will be good again next year and I'm looking forward to the AL East battle. Losing sucks, losing while getting your heart ripped out sucks more, but I can tell you from experience that when you get that championship, when you hear the words that your team is WORLD CHAMPION, it is just all the sweeter

Cubs have never been there and if they went you can bet there would be a lot of interest.  I just don't think that may folks care that much about those two teams.

Me too.  That and because the Phillies are poison.

I hope next year, it can be the Rays vs the Marlins and we can have like 14 people watch the best world series ever.
