don't the hyundais come with a 100000 mile / 10 year warranty on the engine? maybe call the dealer to see if that's the case

Hmmm...Good point, Fau. They're kind of limited in what they cover and stuff, but we'll see.

Ha! Life has been hectic here. I'm going to try your suggestion this weekend when I fill up my tank. (I only fill up once a month or so.) I'll give you a full report after that.  Smiley

The weird thing is the tow truck guy could start it, but I could not. That's why he says it's a sensor under the peddle or something that's worn. I am not able to push it in all the way.

The best thing you can do is have the mechanic look at it.  Your car like most on the road today is largely computerized and probably needs to have something adjusted electronically.  I've never driven a car with a clutch sensor in it.   So that's probably all it is.

The cars I have driven have a tendency to turn the service engine light on at random for no real reason and it's common for it to be something electronic that sometimes only a mechanic can do with software and a laptop.

You are correct. The clutch sensor thingy had to be replaced. It was only about $120 with parts and labor. I also did a bunch of other maintainency type stuf.

This falls under "normal" maintenance. These warranties actually kind of suck. They replaced a stereo and a few other things. But, most of the items that are normal wear and tear you pay forrrrrr
