We were playing a game the other day at lunch where we were trying to name actors that have played in multiple movies series.

To clarify, a series counts as three or more films.   (They need only to be in one, though)  Also, they need not be the same canon.  For example, Batman Begins is fair game, despite not being in the same universe as Batman Forever.  Spinoffs, however, do not count.  For example, Catwoman is not part of the Batman Series.  Lastly, crossover characters are not enough to be considered a series.  The main characters or plotline must be the same.  For example, Kevin Smith's "jersey trilogy" has characters (Jay and Silent Bob) that are the same, but the main characters and plotline are not.  However, Jurassic Park doesn't always have the same main characters, but does continue on the same plotline.

And "played in", means that they played a significant role, not just a cameo or background character.

These were some of the ones we came up with:
Harrison Ford (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Tom Clancy)
Patrick Stewart (X-Men, Star Trek)
Hugo Weaving (Matrix, Lord of the Rings)
Ian McKellan (Lord of the Rings, X-Men)
Arnold Shwarzenegger (Terminator, Batman)
Sean Connery (Indiana Jones, James Bond)
Alan Rickman (Harry Potter, Die Hard)
Richard Attenborough (Jurassic Park, Harry Potter)
George Clooney (Ocean's 11, Batman)

Add some more....

Michael J Fox: Back to the Future and Stuart Little (the mouse) movie series...did they make 3 Teen Wolf movies?

Raul Julia: Addams Family and Street Fighter movie series

Chuck Norris: Delta Force and Missing in Action movie series

Might be a wee bit of a stretch on the second movie series for this one, but...

Ving Rhames: Mission Impossible and Final Fantasy movie series

Keanu Reeves...Matrix and Speed

I think that Speed only had 2 movies.

Michael J Fox: Back to the Future and Stuart Little (the mouse) movie series...did they make 3 Teen Wolf movies?

Only 2 Teen Wolf movies.  ...and only 2 Stuart Little movies, as well.

Quote
Raul Julia: Addams Family and Street Fighter movie series

Both were only 2 films

Quote
Ving Rhames: Mission Impossible and Final Fantasy movie series

I think Final Fantasy only has 2, and although I've never seen them, I don't think they share main characters or plot.

I really should add to the rules that at least three of the films in the series must be theatrical releases.  Sometimes, the first movie is popular, and then they come out with straight to DVD crap ripoffs, like with From Dusk Till Dawn.

Sylvester Stallone and Talia Shire are good ones.
So are Christopher Lee and Ray Park

I don't remember Bruce Campbell in Spiderman, but IMDB says he was in Spiderman 3 as the maitre'd.  ...I think that falls under cameo.

Liam Neeson- Star Wars, Batman (and although the third movie hasn't been released yet, its coming, so may as well list Narnia as well)
Orlando Bloom- Pirates, Lord of the Rings
John Rhys-Davies- Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones
Marlon Brando- Godfather, Superman
Halle Berry- X-Men, James Bond

I edited to combine several posts into one....

Not sure what the ruling will be on this one-
James Earl Jones- Tom Clancy, Star Wars
Technically, he's not in Star Wars, but his voice IS Darth Vader- that character would not be the same without JEJ's voice.

Antonio Banderas: Desperado. Zorro. Shrek. Spy Kids.

Edit: Thinking about other actors in those movies... Salma Hayek, Cheech Marin and Steve Buscemi have some overlap. I'm not sure how pivotal a role you have to have in order for it to count, but:

Salma Hayek: Desperado, Spy Kids
Cheech Marin: Desperado, Spy Kids... and of course "Cheech and Chong"
Steve Buscemi: Desperado, Spy Kids.

Bruce Willis (Die Hard, Look Who's Talking)   He was the voice of Mikey in the first two Look Who's Talking movies.  If you count James Earl Jones for Star Wars, you have to count him.

Matt Damon (The Bourne Identity, Oceans Eleven)

Steve Martin (Father of the Bride, Cheaper by the Dozen, The Pink Panther)
