Every time I see that Porter is leading the league is sacks, I think "How?"

I guess he gets a lot of coverage sacks.  We don't seem to ever apply any pressure.  It's further exposing our secondary.  I think that this is quite possibly one of the biggest problems on our team right now.  Even when we blitz, QBs don't get hurried.

You and me both.  The rose colored glasses came off this weekend.  We have come a long way but there is still a lot of work to be done to take this team to the next level.

The pressure comes and goes. There really wasn't any against the Rams, but I have seen them get some good pressure.

He's not anymore. Ware has 15, Porter 14.5.

Bulger was sacked 8 times in the first half over the previous 3 games.  None in the whole game against us.

I think they were doubling Porter and no one else has the speed or strength to get in there.

Yeah....even Porter, though, isn't getting sacks by bull-rushing.  He's just staying at it until the pocket collapses.  ...and that's a credit to Porter -- a sack is a sack, after all.

I guess I'm just used to Jason Taylor's style of getting around a guy and disrupting a play from the start.  We lack that now.

That's exactly what they were doing.  And that is why we need another pass rusher on the opposite side.  Our two top rookie DL's, Langford and Merling aren't getting the job done.

It took Mario Williams and Gaines Adams a year before they were effective pass rushers...I think one of the two rookies (or both) will step it up next year.

Our Offense has alot to do with it...Joey Porter got three sacks when we were leading big against the Pats,2 sacks when we were up a against the Ravens,2 more against Buffalo when we got up on them...We've let alot of teams hang around the past few weeks....The Raiders,Seahawks,Rams We should have been up big on those teams where they needed to pass to get in the game....Teams have been able to Run the ball for 4 quarters, because we're either tied,or slightly behind....

We need to get ahead by 10 to 14 points,to make teams start abandoning the run....

Pass rush and Secondary problems go hand in hand.  We have a 3-4 defense.  The best way to get pressure from a 3-4 defense is to blitz.

We had to play more coverage against the Patriots.  More coverage = less guys available to blitz.  We had to play coverage against the Rams as well because yeah they suck, but they're still capable of throwing the football all over the field against anyone.

Wait and see what happens with Buffalo this weekend.  I think you'll see a lot more blitzing in part due to the presence of Marshawn Lynch and the fact that whoever starts at qb for Buffalo should be lunch.

"Concerned about our pass rush "

What pass rush?  Who's #2 on the team in sacks?  Holliday with 3.5?

Yes! I think you and I discussed this during the game. The Fins need to pick up a Good run stopper in the Vien of Daryl Gardner and Tim Bowens hopefully in the draft. Thomas looked good though before he got hurt.  Anyone know of any that will be a free agent next year?

Jason Ferguson is adequately filling that role right now.  But he's in his late 30's.  It's time to start grooming his replacement.

porter is a 3-4 system guy... line him up in different ways, give him a little space, and let roam a bit.

looking for another pass rushing de off the edge like taylor, keep this name in mind... brian orakpo, de u texas. if there is a chance in hell to grab that guy in round 1, do everything you can...
