While hanging out with Defense tonight at the Ale House watching Monday Night football, we ran into this dude who lived in Boston for years and waited on Bill Parcells many times when he was coaching the Patriots and still talks to him to this day.  Got some interesting information from the guy that I'd love to share with everyone:

-  Bill Parcells stepped down from the Jets and named Bill Belichick as his successor.  Less than 24 hours later Belichick resigns and heads to New England.  What the media didn't say was that Parcells had basically handed Belichick the Jets playbook, which he then took to New England.  Not to mention that Belichick won cheated his way to all those titles with basically a Parcells built team.

- Bill Parcells is aching to get on the sidelines again.  If the Dolphins start out 0-2 or 0-3 next season, look for him to can Sparano and take over the head coaching job himself.  He wants to win another Super Bowl and would love to do it next year when the game is in Miami

I, personally, think this guy is full of it, but he did raise some interesting points.  Any thoughts?

The points are not interesting at all.

There was a 5-year-gap between Parcells' last game with NE (1997 Super Bowl) and Belichick's SB win in 2002.  Belichick dumped Parcells' franchise QB and Parcells brought his franchise RB (Martin) with him to NYJ.  Of the other two Pro Bowl players on Parcells' SB team (Dave Meggett and Willie McGinest), only McGinest was on Belichick's SB team.  The other NE title teams have even less in common with Parcells' NE team.

As for Parcells' desire to coach... why fire Sparano when Sparano is essentially his sock puppet as is?  People will give Parcells the credit for any success and Sparano the blame for any failures.  I've already heard ESPN analysts giving Parcells the credit for the freaking Wildcat.

I don't see it.........Parcells hand picked Sprano so canning him would be just as big a black eye. And I don't see the Dolphins going 0-2 we are only going to get better not worse.  Parcells still calls plays even if he doesn't admit it, and he will still get credit for all of the Dolphins success. That guy was a big bald nutjob...........(no offense tommy Grin)  Cheesy

Yeah, he was bigger than the two of us put together.   Grin

Although going 0-2 next year is a strong possibility.  Keep in mind that this team is not nearly as good as its record indicates.  They're benefitting from a last-place schedule.  Next year, they won't have that to their advantage and may very well end up stumbling out the gate.

  They're benefitting from a last-place schedule.

Not really.  Both of the games that the Dolphins played based on last years performance (Texans and Raven) the team lost.

Parcells will NOT be coaching the Dolphins, or any other team. He's in the front office for good now.

And honestly...is any of that Jets-Patsies shit that went on way back when Tuna was the coach actually newsworthy today?

Even if they start out 0-2 or 0-3 next season, they are not going to fire Sparano because of this season.  That guy is an idiot.

If Belichick took the Jets playbook to New England then I think it's relevant considering his less-than-ethical track record.  It's becoming a fine tapestry of chickenshit calls for that clown.
