Did anyone else see Across the Universe?

I am a huge fan of the Beatles.   I saw this movie in the theaters, and am watching it again online.  I like it.  It does some things so well.  I love parts of it, but parts of it seem "amateur-ish."  I think that a lot of the regular dialogue comes across weird, and the musical numbers jump around in their tone.  It's almost like the movie doesn't know what it wants to be.  I think the basic idea is great, and that in the hands of a more competent director and producer, that it may have been great.  But as it is, I feel like it's lacking something, and I just can't figure out what it is.

Has anyone else seen it?
