If he can do it, I might change my mind, but for right now, the "hints of brilliance" you keep talking about are no more significant than the "hints of suckitude" John Beck showed in his 5-quarter tryout.

Hints of brilliance don't reserve you a spot in Canton, but they do make you OVERRATED.

Yup - that's WHY I picked him.  He's played 1 quarter of football and, somehow, people just CAN'T WAIT for him to take the field.  People (the consensus) seem to think that he will be able to throw deep balls accurately, not have the "deer in headlights" look, and just overall make Tom Brady look like a Pop Warner kid.  I ain't buyin' it.

Over hyed,yes..Over rated...umm not quite,I don't think he's shown enough to be rateable...I'd definitely put him in the over hyped catagory......All he has to do is prove he has the ability to throw the deep ball..We all know Pennington doesn't have an arm, he's not going to throw a 30 yard pass on a rope....Safties can play closer to the line of scrimmage, play the run,and the short pass....

Along the same line of thinking, I'd have to put Pat White there then....I'm of the belief that the Wild cat isn't going to produce very much this year, regardless of who's running it...It was hard to defend when you thought only teams that played the Dolphins had to prepare for it,and you didn't have time to game plan for it...Ddefensive coordinator have had almost 8 months...*If the Wildcat offense is beating you, then your defensive coordinator should be fired, and leave with the rest of the drunk fans.....

*(This doesn't include a trick double reverse, that gets tossed 60 yards down field for a TD....,but If we run the wildcat 6 times against you,and gain 75 yards and a score...you should be fired....)

As per Sunstroke, Brian's opinion is just fine...

The fact that we're using the term "overrated" here means it is subjective to individual opinion, as there isn't really one "rating" system in play for that sort of thing.

I don't have Henne painted as any kind of QB savior, so he stands as much chance of me considering him overrated as any non-starter currently on the squad.

Philly is right on though... If Brian sees Henne as rated much higher than he expects him to be able to perform on the field, then yessir...to Brian, Henne is overrated.

Ronnie Brown.

My vote goes for Ronnie, but not that he is highly over-rated.  In fact I think most of our players are under-rated.

How can u guys say that. Look at what he has done with the Fins since his rook year.  He is doing way better that Caddyshack Williams.  Sure he really not posted 1000 yrd season . Look what the Fins offense been like since he got in Miami( Saban , Bates, Camoron) .  Over-rated my ass.  Ronnie Is a beast.

^^^ Yes, yes, we know your opinion on Ronnie. He sucks, he's secretly a North Korean spy, he spits on babies and he's responsible for every missing sock that never made it out of the dryer.

Ronnie could break Ricky's team rushing record this year, make the Pro Bowl again, and Spongebob Tepop would find something negative to say about it

Well hopefully he's enjoying my $20 Nike socks that I was forced to buy in college.

It's still tough for me to pick, even if I had hoped Ginn should have made a bigger impact by now, a lot of our guys are so young that it's too much of a grey area.

I think Ronnie Brown is overrated too, but at least he's had a good game here and there. But yeah, you'd think a #2 overall pick would do more.

How about JT for most overrated? The Fins miss the playoffs his last six years in Miami, and then win the division as soon as he leaves!  Shocked

Thanks (blushes).

That's why it didn't break my heart to see JT leave last year. I leave player overrating to the media.

Nah, because Taylor put up the production, the numbers, to justify the way people perceived him.  His career numbers are comparable to some of the game's greats, so he, too, should be considered one of the game's greats.  Is it his fault our best wideouts were James McKnight and Oronde Gadsden for those years when the D was so good?

Yeah JT put up the numbers and production, but like The Quitters 2002 rushing season it didn't mean anything. If a team has someone who's considered their best player yet they can;t make the playofs with him and just finished 1-15, then how much worse off could they be without him? That's the exact same resoning JJ used back when he fleeced the Vikes in the Herschel Walker trade.

make no mistake about it though, I think getting JT back just one year after collecting a second rounder from the Skins for him is hilarious, and now it turns out they actually might need him to play full time with this Roth illness, which I have a *really* bad feeling about.
