Who do you think is the most overrated player on the roster right now.

I used to say that it was Joey Porter, but he's been playing well-enough to change my mind.  His attitude still sucks sometimes and the stupid penalties are unforgivable, but I think he's come around.

My answer now is probably Ronnie Brown.  I like him, I like his attitude, and I think he's a good player.  But I think that because he was taken so high in the draft, that we sometimes (and mistakenly) think of him as an elite RB, when he's not.

^^^^^

If he has a breakout year will that change your opinion of him?  Word coming from the Trifecta is that he is in the best shape of his life, and with the Wildcat becoming a big part of the Dolphins offensive playbook, I can see him going back to the Ronnie of 2007 before his knee injury.... and holding up the entire year.

Honestly, I'd have to say the most overrated player on our roster comes down to Pat White and Cameron Wake.  Although that could change with a strong performance in camp.  Both had a lot of hype coming to the Dolphins but struggled in OTA's.

Yes, if he has a breakout year, of course that will change my opinion on him.

Ready for this?

Brace yourself...

I think the most overrated player is Chad Henne.

You heard right.  I do NOT think he is the next Dan Marino.  I don't even think he's the next Chad Pennington.  I am worried that they will follow the Jets, dismissing Penny for "the future" only to have him fall on his face and break all the eggs the team placed squarely in his basket.

Prove me wrong, Chad.

I seriously hope he does prove you wrong.  Not because you called him overrated, but because the team invested a second round pick in him, and he has shown some flashes of brilliance during his limited playing time.

The team invested a 2nd round pick in John Beck and you couldn't WAIT to run his ass out of town.  Roll Eyes

I don't think there are many options for this list. A lot of Dolphins still are not considered league stars. Ronnie Brown is probably the most overrated by the public and Channing Crowder is probably the most overrated in his own mind.

I think it a bit unfair to consider any rookies as overrated. At this point they don't even have a rating on my scale. That comes after the season starts.

Because John Beck had his chance and proved to be an amazing offensive weapon for the other team.  The fact that Cam Camoron brought him in doesn't help either.

Right now I'd have to say either Ted Ginn or Chad Henne.

Jake Long.  Made the Pro Bowl as a rookie and is being touted as all-everything.  Is he even better than Vernon Carey (who's very good as well, but doesn't get nearly the level of praise)?  I think he'll be a good, or even great tackle, for sure, but is he really Orlando Pace?  If not, then he's over-rated by virtue of the level of attention he received this past season.

My vote goes for Ronnie, but not that he is highly over-rated.  In fact I think most of our players are under-rated.

Every #1 overall pick is going to get a high level of attention.  He started out strong and improved dramatically as the season went on.  Did you see him towards the end of the season??  He was blowing his guy off the line on a consistent basis.

I don't see Carey and Long even in the same ballpark in regards to talent... I see Vernon as an average right tackle, and I see Jake as a perrenial pro bowl left tackle.

Most overrated player on the phins? Not sure if we have any of those, but I'd probably go with Ginn based on what we paid for him and what little he's contributed on the field so far.
