Probably a toss up between Ronnie Brown and Joey Porter. Although Brian Fein does make a good argument for Chad Henne.  I don't see how Ginn is overrated, everybody thinks he sucks when he is a decent NFL receiver.

I'm assuming we're talking about current Fins and not past ones right? Because as far as past Fins go, I'd have to say Chambers was the most overrated.

But as far as today, it's gotta be Ginn. At least the other candidates have had great games. Ginn's had ONE hundred yard receiving game in 2 years--against the Bills' backup--and Dwayne Bowe, drafted 14 spots after Ginn remember, has four. And Ginn was also supposed to be this great return man but how many TDs does he have in that department? One in two years. Anybody can get lucky and have ONE. And THIS guys is supposed to be our #1 WR? HA!!!

Yea but the question is who is overrated, not who has underachieved. Everybody thinks Ginn sucks, how can he be overrated?

Normally it wouldn't make any sense I agree, but with Ginn it somehow works. Just don't question it okay?  Smiley

It's almost like if Ginn doesn't have a huge year this year, he's not going to ever.  It's a feeling I have and maybe some others too.  It's the same feeling I had with Chris Chambers and a couple other guys that we trotted in and out of there at the position since approximately 2000.

So basically what you are saying is that he isn't overrated at all.

I wondered the same thing when I saw Ginn's name in a couple of spots but I can see the line of thinking. There are two schools of thought as I see it #1 being overrated by the fans and #2 being overrated by your salary. I can only assume the Ginn voters use the second school.

I think a lot of people are confusing the issue. They feel he was over-rated by the regime that drafted him. No matter if we agree with that or not (I do, and I'm sure most people do), it doesn't mean he is currently the most over rated Fin.

No confusion at all here... The fact that we're using the term "overrated" here means it is subjective to individual opinion, as there isn't really one "rating" system in play for that sort of thing.

Ginn is overrated by the way I see him. If others don't, that's groovy...

Does that clear up the confusion?

Easily Ted Ginn.  He's not even playing up to 3rd pick potential. Trade him to the Ravens and give Cam the whole Beck-Ginn set.  Tongue

If he doesn't have 1500 yards and 10 tds this year, everyone will want to run him out of town even more than they already do.  We ran players off for a lot less.

Picking Ginn would answer the question "which Dolphins is most overrated three years ago?"

I'm with Tepop - there is no consensus that says that Ginn is good.

Asking who is overrated is comparing YOUR opinion to the consensus opinion of the masses.  I think Steven Jackson is ridiculously overrated, because most experts have him rated as the #4 or 5 RB in the league.  I think he sucks, and therefore, is overrated.

Yup - that's WHY I picked him.  He's played 1 quarter of football and, somehow, people just CAN'T WAIT for him to take the field.  People (the consensus) seem to think that he will be able to throw deep balls accurately, not have the "deer in headlights" look, and just overall make Tom Brady look like a Pop Warner kid.  I ain't buyin' it.

And what if he's able to do exactly that?  He's shown hints of being able to do that in the limited time he has had
