Marlins not in talks with Padres for Heath Bell anymore.

They wanted Maybin + West/Miller + change....

I have to agree with moving on here.

San Diego's farm system needs help.  Between Bell and AG, they can stock the shelfs.  They have asked Boston for the following package for AG: Buchholz, Masterson, Lowrie AND Lars Anderson and Ryan Westmoreland.

They must be out of their tree.

Boston is about to nab Victor Martinez from the Indians.  Not sure who is going back.  I really trust my buddy reporting this one, I'll be shocked if it doesn't pan out.  So far he's batting 1.0000 on his reported trades.

Adrian Gonzalez, if he played his home games in Fenway, with that much offensive talent around him, would give you 40 Hr and 130-140 RBI every year. I pray that he doesn't go to Boston or New York though...Adrian is too nice of a guy to lose his soul to the dark side.

Besides, Maine, as you and I discussed on the phone, Adrian needs to be the next Tony Gwynn in SD...plays there his entire career (or almost all of it) and be a staple in the community, especially for the high Mexican demographic in that area.

SD's farm still needs help, but I'm beginning to see signs of life from some of our young prospects, so I'm backing slowly away from the ledge at this point.

I agree 100% with all of that.

I also think he isn't worth three major league players and two A+ prospects.  Holy crow.

I don't talk a bunch about him here but Justin Masterson and I have formed a very strong and close friendship since his time here in Portland.  We chat a lot about things near and dear to our heart, especially a lot of Bible talk.  He is a great guy.

And now he is off to Cleveland.

Darn you, trading deadline.

Take care of my buddy, Indian fan.  You're getting a top notch A-1 class act.

I can't 100% confirm it.  But I sent him a text asking if he's heard anything and all I got was a "God has a plan for me no matter what but today stings" and a frowny face.

The Globe is reporting Masterson and Nick Hagadone

Edit: Apparently Gammons is confirming that they're involved but it isn't a done deal yet

Figures.

Masterson automatically becomes Cleveland's #3.  And he SHOULD be Boston's #4.  Brad Penny sucks.

Hagadone has a hell of an arm.  That kid could be very good.  He's in A ball right now, bet Cleveland moves him up to their AA system.

If the Sox pull the trigger on the Martinez deal, Atlanta has interest in LaRoche

It's done.  Gammons is always slow to report.  He was the one that botched the A Rod coming to Boston story and has been gun shy ever since.
