There is no winner outside of Greinke or Felix Hernandez. I don't care how many wins or innings pitched CC has or how many K's Verlander has, there is no correct answer but those two. No more ESPN pundits talking about Greinke's solid but unspectacular record or the fact that him and Felix play for non-playoff teams. They are the best, stop making me hit my TV. It's a nice TV, I don't want to buy a new one.

Oh, and Mariano does NOT even get consideration, YES Network. Yes, he is amazing and I thank God he is a Yankee, but he pitched in 56 innings, about a quarter of what those two will finish with.

Three words:

Greinke Greinke Greinke

That is all.

What do you mean Edge? Michael Kay told me that Mo is a lock for Cy Young. Are you insinuating that Michael Kay is a homer of epic proportions, much like Peter Gammons?  Cheesy

Joshie was right up there until the last 5 starts. Almost an 8 ERA, and then he started serving up the gopher balls.

I am seeing a kink in his delivery on his curve ball that I can't quite figure out.  I don't know if he's hurt or it's a delivery thing.  If his hook isn't working he won't fool a ton of people with only his power stuff.  It's the threat of a 11/5 buckling your knees that makes you really fear that heater.

On the plus side, he is throwing strikes.  9k's and no walks.  It's that curve that is really tossing things around here.  It was better last night than it was against Chicago, but not by a ton.  He'll start again in Chicago, it will be interesting to see if it bounces back.

I think that if Greinke closes out strong the last month, no one should be able to take the CY away from him. You could argue that, of his 27 starts so far, only 2-3 weren't top shelf quality starts. The fact that he only has 13 wins just shows how bad KC's offense is, because he should be at 16-17 wins easy at this point.

I love Felix too, and have him on far more FLB squads than Greinke...but Greinke has been so lights out that it's hard to think of anyone else.

Doc always deserves to be in the conversation, but Greinke is just so good right now, Doc isn't an option.

Did anyone notice the package that Boston put together this past trading deadline for Felix?  Reports are that Seattle almost took it.  If the rumors are true that package was the following:

Buchholz, Masterson, Delcarmen, Lars Anderson, Josh Reddick and a player to be named later.

Apparently Seattle came back and said "toss in Jacoby Ellsbury and you have a deal."

Man.  I don't know.  I might have done that!  Smiley

Agreed...it would have been a ton to give up.  Especially with Buchholz showing signs of being a true 2 or 3 right now.  But all I keep thinking about is how much of a monster Boston's rotation would have been with Felix, Beckett and Lester as the 1, 2, 3.  I get greedy!
