My shame goes to Lex Hilliard as well.

He's been a good ST player for us, but he made the only glaring mistake of the day

Either the Offensive line coach,Sparano,or Henning the O coordinator, whom ever keeps making the decision to keep making changes at RG,in the middle of drives....I think it kills communication, and doesn't let the line work as one unit.....Last year it was Ike Ndukwe, and Andy Alleman...Now its Donald Thomas,Nate Garner, and Shawn Murphy..I think it's doing more harm than good....

My Shame of the Game goes to Patrick Turner.  0 catches for 0 yards.  I expect more out of a second round pick.

I think that Henne played well.  0 turnovers and a TD pass, plus he threw for several 3rd downs.

In a game where you run for almost 300 yards, your QB is doing their job by keeping away turnovers.  I think you don't want anything more than that.  Sometimes one player's statline is not indicative of his performance.

As for taking sacks, yes, he did take several, but of all of them, only 1 was on him.  Otherwise, someone missed a blocking assignment.

I just-re-watched the entire game while I worked today, and Henne did very well.  Some of his passes are a little off the mark, but if it means keeping the turnovers down, I am okay with that.

So, my shame goes to Carey for getting burned a few times.

shame of the game goes to Vernon Carey and Donald Thomas, both of whom gave up sacks in what was otherwise a very solid game.

Does anyone know what Carey is making this year?  I know we resigned him so it's probably something sick.  This factored into my decision.

I think he got about $42 million over the next 6 years.  That will make him retire as a Dolphin.  Personally, I think the Dolphins vastly overpaid for a slightly above average right tackle, but there was no one better on the free agent market, and the team saved a couple million by not franchising him.

Chad Henne for shame of the game? Now, I KNOW tepop isn't a Dolphins fan. Probably a Jets fan pretending to be a Dolphins fan just to get us riled up. If he had an ounce of credibility before when he was trashing Ronnie Brown, its gone now.

My shame of the game goes to the O-Line coordinator. 6 sacks due to the fact that Henne had only a nanosecond to throw.

$42 over 6 years is right, Tommy.  It looks like $13.2M this year if I did the math correctly--good news if you're Vernon Carey.  Definitely my SOTG then.

Carey's salary (plus Bell and Crowder)

A bunch of ignorance in this thread.

Carey has a bad knee and was playing a speed end, thus the sack.  Donald Thomas lacks a little conditioning due to the injuries and lack of practice.  He needed a few breaks considering the heat and all the running the team has been doing.  We are lucky Thomas has been able to do what he has done.

Ginn was matched up with a healthy McGee, who still knows how to play and was their best corner this past Sunday.  Ginn did nothing wrong.

Henne is focused on not turning the ball over.  He is holding on a little long and it shows in sacks.  He is taking his shots but only when he is sure that the match-up is single coverage.  This is standard for a young QB on a team with a conservative coach.

Lex Hilliard has been absolutely dominating in special teams, he made one mistake but has otherwise been outstanding.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Very difficult game to pinpoint a SOTG.  I might give it to Ayodele who got showed up by Torbor, but that is even a stretch.  Probably best to say "no SOTG" this week.

^^^^

You may be correct in your assessment Doc-Phin.  My judgement on Carey and Thomas did not come easily, most of which you touched on above.

Officially we gave up 6 sacks, two of them were maybe actual sacks, not caused because Henne ate the ball (2) and Henne stepped up to the wrong side (2) which is not a huge deal,
