2011 NFC East Champions!

« on: November 30, 2009, 10:48:02 am »

...when you went 0-3 and Chad Pennington got hurt (that was the game, right?)

Chad Henne is a ridiculous joke of an NFL QB. God man, you put ANY pressure on him at all and he completely falls apart. Chad Pennington would have at least been able to save face in yesterday's disaster of a game.

I don't think the Dolphins can win any more than 1 game. You're not beating the Patriots next week, you're not beating the Titans @ Tennessee, you're not beating the Steelers in week 17 (as they'll be fighting for the playoffs), and you're not beating @ Jacksonville in 2 weeks.

The only game I could even see Miami winning is the home game vs. Houston - but the Dolphins have never beaten that team and who is going to stop Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson??

Your season didn't end yesterday. It ended a long time ago and the Dolphins were just on borrowed time.

Alright, Splat-master...

The "you're not beating Jacksonville" seems lame, since Jacksonville is sucking pretty hard right now and coming off an embarrassing loss to SF this past weekend.

As far as "who is going to stop Matt Schaub...", the obvious answer is "Matt Schaub usually stops Matt Schaub."

As far as Henne sucking goes...hard to argue, given how poorly he played yesterday, but it is his first season as a starter, and any new QB should be expected to have a few off games, whether it's a 2nd rounder like Henne or blue-chippers like Eli Manning.

...or had you completely forgotten how horrific Eli looked on a regular basis before he finally got the hang of things?

America's team

Miami's season ended when Ronnie Brown went down and they became forced to attempt to run something that mimics an NFL offense, which they aren't prepared to do.

^^^ And apparently your chances of ever developing something akin to "character" ended at birth...

(Clarification...was that a personal attack? Or just the statement of an obvious and immutable truth?)

A Giants fan telling fans of another team that their chosen team sucks. I smell hypocrisy. I hope all the time you spent in analyzing this did not cut into your social life with the ladies.

Because I never complain about how much the Giants suck apparently.

No it doesn't.

I say the Giants suck, but our team sucks too.  I'm not a hypocrite.  There are lots of teams that suck in the NFL.  Just because you're a fan of one of them doesn't make other teams stop sucking.

I'd argue that we don't suck. We are a middle of the road team that always has a shot to win and be competitive. With that said ... I agree that our season ended in San Diego as I had posted at the time.

There is a difference between saying both your favorite team and somebody else's team suck, and continually writing angst ridden diatribes and rants extolling the complete and total suckitude of another team, when your team is reaching epic fail status when compared to expectation at the begining of the season.
If he did an equal number of his musings about both teams then I wouldn't consider him a hypocrite.

Jtex will be the first to admit when the Giants suck nuts.  I've known him a long time.

But this isn't a Giants message board.

Really there's only 3 or 4 "good" teams in the league at this point.

- New Orleans
- Indy
- Minnesota
- New England (and even this is starting to crumble)

All other teams are either mediocre or just downright bad.  If these are the four teams that play in the championship round, it will be a GREAT last week of the playoffs.

I was not one of the hopefulls.  The Patriots loss was the end of possibilities in my mind.  Even if we miraculously make the playoffs (which we won't), we are a one trick pony and our pony is missing.  We are designed to run the ball 75% of the time and hope to pull out a squeeker each game.  With Ronnie gone and our line dinged up, we don't have the tools.

The reason it felt like the season ended "yesterday" is that we were embarrassed by a team we should have beaten relatively easily.  Before "yesterday", I felt like we were progressing, now I am worried that we are further behind than I thought.  Running the ball and stopping the run is getting us nowhere.  5 years ago I would have thought that was a good formula for winning but things have changed.

If it ends it because we lost to the sorry ass Bills and Ronnie Brown went down.  With Ronnie, it's only partly due to the Wildcat and mostly because he's a beast.
