How to we address the WR situation next season

What WR do you see coming out of this draft that can play in the Calvin Johnson mold?  I don't know that there is one in this draft class...

There isn't a "#1 overall candidate" caliber WR in this draft, but I think there are a number of quality WRs that could become #1 WRs in an NFL system, and some that will likely be very good #2 WRs. I'd like to see Miami keep its focus away from WRs in rd 1, and look to that position in rd 2 or 3. I really would like to see Miami take a monster defensive front seven guy, either MLB, NT or DE with their mid first rounder.

We lack Wr's that will go get the ball,fight for the ball,(on a consistant basis,Bess does do it)we've been missing those for years....NO Way in Hell I want to go the free agent route...No T.O.,No Vincent Jackson,No to Boldin...Probably wouldn't use anything Higher than a 3rd rounder on WR...Definately not a 1st rounder....

I've heard rumblings (from fans, of course) that the Fins could be looking at Brandon Spikes in round 1 and possibly a value WR in round 2.  I wonder where Dez Bryant falls in the draft...

If he has a good showing at his school Pro Day and the Scouting Combine, he'll go in the first round.

They're probably better off addressing it in free agency or trade than they are in the draft.  Don't get me wrong they may find a steal in the later rounds, but if we're playing simple probability and outcome, the draft's not the way to go this year.

I don't know that we need much at the WR position even though they are "much maligned."  Hartline is just beginning to tap his potential and I actually think Ginn can still improve, Bess has nothing but upside in his future and Camarillo is a solid possession guy. 

As much as I love Ronnie Brown and this borders on heresy, they may want to consider drafting a running back before they go get another receiver.

This is a great observation. I think they go after a running back due to Ricky being 32 and Brown being injury prone.

Unless Hilliard does something on special teams, he'll be gone. The guy has really disappointed me after I rallied for him. He hasn't done anything and it appears that he runs with his eyes closed.

I would take a receiver in the later rounds. Seems to me that guys in the later rounds are hungrier to prove they belong.

I'd keep Ginn as a kick returner.

In the draft this year, I see the phins going with one of the following guys in the first round.  I ranked them on who I would like to see drafted.  Anyone other than these guys drafted, I'll be shocked.

1.  Terrance Cody, NT, Alabama

2.  Dan Williams, NT, Tennessee

3.  Rolando McClain, MLB, Alabama

4.  Damien Williams, WR, USC

5.  Brandon Spikes, MLB, Florida

I would be happy with any of these guys, except maybe Brandon Spikes.  The guy has all the talent in the world, but he seems to disappear at times.  The only WR I would want to spend a 1st rounder on is Damien Williams.  I've seen a few guys compare him to Jimmy Smith, who was a beast when he played in Jacksonville.  Our best bet is to land someone in the 2nd round like Arrelious Benn from Illinois, Golden Tate from Notre Dame, or hope Brandon LaFell, LSU  falls to us (although unlikely he'll still be around by our 2nd round pick).  

There is also the possibility of drafting Demaryius Thomas, Georgia Tech in the third, who has fantastic size (6-3, 229 lbs), but is a little on the slow side (4.6 forty), and does not have good route running.  He'd be a project, which wouldn't help us next year.  

Right now, I see Damien Williams and Golden Tate as the only WRs in this draft that could make an immediate impact in the NFL.  

As far as free agents go, I would be happy to have Brandon Marshall, Vincent Jackson, Miles Austin, Antonio Bryant (although not likely), or Malcolm Floyd.  Then we could take a chance in the later rounds at WR who has good measurables, and have them learn behind a proven veteran.

Parcells needs to do his homework and draft a quality receiver in the 2nd or 3rd round, forget about the prima donna's that go in the first round.  The only first rounders I like are lineman; QB's, RB's, and WR's all end up being expensive crapshoots.

I agree that we need to beef up the trenches and the front seven based on all the injuries.  Parcells likes big nasty nose tackles and ferociously fast pass rushing linebackers.
