I'm looking for a specific kind of football card.  I think it was from the early 90s and probably the Topps brand.

You would see a guy who was on a new team, but with the old uniform.  ...so it would be like a Falcons player, but he'd be wearing a Bengals Jersey and there would be a little banner across the Corner that said "Acquired from Cincinnati".  Does anyone have a recollection of what I'm talking about?  Can anyone name a specific year and brand where this happened?  And better yet, can anyone find a picture?

Dave- I know I have some Donruss "traded" baseball cards that are exactly like that (I have a whole case from one season). I will check if I have football ones. I know exactly where they would be, so I can have an answer for you shortly...

None of my football cards were of the "traded" variety, like you were looking for. I did have some "rookie" cards, which showed the player in their college uniforms.

They had probably 1 or 2 from each set (not from traded sets) of guys who switched teams after the photo deadline and they had to put a little flag on the card because they had an old picture.

I'll do some digging...

If no one finds one, I know I have some in my collection but I'm not digging through it today.

I assume you're referring to something like this:

I had this one and others. I'm not sure what i have left. This happens a lot regardless of year and brand, not just Topps. You just have to look for guys that were traded right after draft day or at least soon after draft day.

Here's a Doug Flutie who only played 4 games with the Bears, but had a card made.

I have a whole rookie set that has warren sapp, favre, and other smaller names and some of them have the 'traded' mark on them. I forget which set. Wasn't one of the big 3, but it's a nice set.

^^^
I think Dave means something like this: Unitas is in his Colts uniform, but the card says Chargers, because they didn't have pics of him in a Chargers uniform yet!

^^ something like this, but later on they got to adding little flags that said "Aquired 1/4/83" or something like that, to kinda explain why he's in the wrong uniform

If you're refering to the early 90s, the most vivid ones I remember were from Pro Set and also sky box.  They had a silver border.

Nope not that. Dave stated that the player was wearing his old teams uniform, but the card would be for his new team.
That Walker card is the other thing they'd do- paint over the uniform!
