That outfit is appropriate if you are hosting Access Hollywood or Total Request Live.  It is not appropriate for SportsCenter, or anyone that wants to be taken seriously in the field of journalism.

The male equivalent would be an Ed Hardy t-shirt with baggy jeans hanging halfway down your ass.

Appropriate or not, does that qualify her to be labeled as a tramp?

Dude, are you serious?

First thing, her outfit is not unprofessional. I deal with tons of women on a daily basis dressed very similarly.

Secondly, the comparison you made is ridiculous. She's not wearing a "hoochie momma" outfit.

Who are you, Reverend Shaw Moore?

Is Erin Andrews dressed more professionally, especially considering she's on a field!

Slightly more, but still not-quite-professional.

Then again, Erin Andrews is not exactly the gold standard of professional attire.

When NBA players used show up to press conferences decked out in FUBU with platinum grills, it didn't mean that they were thugs.  It just meant that they were dressed like thugs.

First of all look who is calling her that. Nuf said.
Secondly she is almost 50 years old, and that outfit does nothing to flatter her or to enhance her looks. It screams of an older woman trying to look younger and hip in a competitive market. I think Tony was right to call out the travesty that is that outfit.
That photo of Erin looks like someone got lost on there way to the junior prom.

Could the ballplayer on the left be any more blatant about staring at Erin's legs?

When I found that pic, I thought the same thing! The caption of the pic was something about her distracting the Cubs while she was in their clubhouse.

Maybe the Taliban has it right. Dress her is a burqa and make her walk ten paces behind the rest of us.

ESPN hires the women to dress like that.  Lets face it neither Strorm nor Andrews was hired were hired for their knowelge of sports.

They serve two roles and two roles only:

1. Appease female sports fans so they won't bitch that ESPN is sexist cause it only has male sportcasters.

2. Be eye candy for male sports fans.

When one of their own comments on the second, it defeats the first role.  Particularly post-Andrews tapes, in order to keep the females happy they need to come down hard on anyone who comments about eye candy role.

Because clearly, the choices can only be "wear revealing clothing that's more suitable for Da Club" or "have your entire body smothered in canvas."  There is no middle ground.

There is such a thing as plain, uncontroversial professional attire for women; you can see it on any of our female members of Congress at any time.  I've even heard a rumor that they've started making full-length slacks for women!  It's a scary world.

These outfits are ridiculous and out of place. Look how completely out of place Erin Andrews is with that ridiculous yellow dress!

You never see Suzy Kolber or a few of the other girls wear stuff like that. They wear female business suits or female professional attire. That's the way it should be for a TV anchor. Wearing knee-high boots with a short mini-skirt is completely to show off your body as the priority. Reporting sports properly to the national audience should be the priority.

Revealing? She has on long sleeves, a non-plunging neckline, and boots. Skirts above the knee have been worn since the sixties. You sir are living in a past generation if you think that is reveling. There is not a thing wrong with that outfit. I suppose you advocate sleeping in separate beds just like Lucy & Ricky also?
