They are also doing this with The Smurfs.  I will go see it only because Neil Patrick Harris has signed on to voice one of the leads.

This is often a success though.  The Charlie's Angels movies were pretty big.

I think that this can actually work.  Gilligan's Island was never a great show to begin with; it was just a product of its time.

I thought the Brady Bunch was clever because they gave it sort of an evil spin. Maybe they will take the same approach will gilligan?  Otherwise I can't see it.

I could see Matthew McConaughey as the professor. Too bad Chris farley past, he would have made the best Skipper. Maybe Kevin James?

Eva mendez would make a hot Ginger. Greg Kinner as Thurtston Howell and maybe Elizabeth Hurley as "lovey".   Can't settle on a Mary Ann.......someone completely hot and young ......so many to choose from.

How about John Goodman? Can't you just see him as Skipper?

As far as Ginger/Mary Ann goes... as long as the eye candy is sweet, their snack role in the movie will be just fine too.

Gilligan...man, no idea. You need someone really scrawny to pull it off.

Skipper - William Shatner
Professor - Guy from Mentalist
Ginger - Redhead from Mad Men
MaryAnne - Ginnifer Goodwin from Big Love
Mrs. Howe - Mom from Arrested Development
Mr. Howe - Guy from 90210

Without searching for images, I have no idea who any of those are after Cera and William Shatner.

Never watched Mad Men, Mentalist, Big Love or Arrested Development...and wouldn't be caught dead watching anything with 90210 attached to it, just on general principle. Wink

Katie Holmes is not a beauty in any meaning of the word that I'm familiar with.

I had no idea who Ginnifer Goodwin was, but a quick google search reveals that she's basically a "prettier Katie Holmes".

Hahaha, point taken Dave. I was just thinking that Megan Fox could be made to look more homely.
