I'm okay with the mullet guy not getting in, because he had no shot at actually winning the whole thing.  This always happens on Idol in the early rounds because you're not voting off the worst, you're voting for the best.

The girls actually are a much better example.  There's no way that the blue haired chick was the worst girl...not even close.  But for people that like her type of folk music, there's Crystal, who was better in the last few weeks.  Race, gender, age, and genre will play heavily into the choices for the next few weeks, more than just overall quality.

The mullet guy was one of 4 or 5 guitar players, but wasn't the best of them.  He was also vying for the role of the cute, young kid, but lost out to that other guy.  He also lost the innocent thing to that country-ish kid.

I'm still surprised that Hot Miami chick never made it.

I think more girls and women watch the show than boys and men.  Look at the finalists the last couple of seasons.

I agree. I would think the teeny Bopers would look up to girl like miami over the Hippy with bad Teeth singing 60's music.  Don't get me wrong, I think she is a damn fine artist, I'm just surprised America does as well. They are usually so shallow. I like the women this year better then the men. All the Guys reminded me of a MTV unplugged video. Acoustic and a bench. I wanted to throw up already. Thats why Fat mike stood out so much.

Not only do more young girls and women watch, but they undoubtedly vote more.  I've been watching this show for going on a 3rd year, but I've never voted, and likely never will.  I just don't care.

What I don't get is why so many people are outraged about Alex and Lily being voted off.  If all those people voted, maybe the result would have been different.

I think that this group is getting much better.  Nothing I heard tonight was awful, and I think that some people that I previously haven't liked all that much are coming along.  Aaron did well tonight, and looks a lot better now that the stylist got to his hair and got rid of his redneck cut.

Paige was also better.

I think that the guy I liked the most, Andrew, was pretty weak.  Ellen said it was his best.  Strangely, I thought it was his worst yet.

I think that even Tim, while his voice wasn't great, put together an interesting cover of the song, and would rather have that than something generic.

In danger of going home:
Tim
Andrew
Lacie

I think that Tim could get through, based on the Sanjaya effect, and that Andrew might be in trouble.

All I know is that I want to reach into the TV and Bitch slap Kara everytime she mentions Lyrics in a song. I think thats all she cares about.

Tim was clearly the worst this week, imo.  American Idol is racist.  R&B singers don't have a chance.

Top 11:

- Lee was boring and okay had an okay vocal.  I didn't agree with the panel.  I just don't find him all that special.  I didn't even remember his name.
- Paige was awful.  I think that her loud notes were good, but her softer parts (most of the song) were awful.
- Tim was surprisingly decent, I think.  I liked him more than the judges did.
- Aaron was okay.  Some notes were off, but you could tell that he was sick.  I give him a pass.  I'm sick of that song, though.
- Crystal was very good, I thought.  I'd like to see her pick something and be surprised by the song, though.  Every choice is in her zone.  I'd like her to go different.
- Big Mike, I haven't been the biggest fan of, but tonight I liked him very much.  I think the song fit the style of what kind of artist he could be.  I also liked the arrangement.
- Andrew was kinda weak.  Weird song choice, and it was bad advice to have him lose the guitar.  Some of his words aren't crisp.  It's like he gets lazy with some of the phrasing.
- Katie sounded more "pitchy" than usual.  I didn't much care for the song.
- Casey's vocal and song choice was great, but he needs to connect a little more.  He's holding a guitar a lot of the time and not playing.  He should be more interactive.
- Didi was okay, but I agree with the judges that it felt like she was playing a role.
- Sioban was good.  I like the songs that she picks, because she's hard to predict.

A few notes:
- If I hear "I had a lot of fun" said by one more contestant, when describing their performance, I'm going to puke.
- Tonight was pretty bad, compared to last week.  I think that the field has regressed.

Best:
Crystal

Bottom 3:
Paige
Andrew
Didi

Paige was the worst, but I will pick Didi to go home, as there are so many better girls than her.

Di Di has the most original voice out of all of them to me. I could pick her out of a thousand. She won't make it all the way , but I dig her and hope she doesn't go home to soon.

Andrew and Paige are the next to go.  Paige was so off Key my dog started to howl.

Casey and Crystal are the clear front runners.  I am curious to see what she has next week and if she can do it without the guitar hippie vibe.  She does that well though.
