I don't think Brian and I have walked out of that stadium more pissed off about a loss ever than we were Thursday night. Goal tending, while usually a strength for the Panthers, was no better than if they put pads on me and threw me out there.

That was awesome.  I don't think I have ever seen a goal like that outside of peewee.

We didn't go Saturday night - traded in our tickets because we went to see Wicked but Vokoun was pulled Saturday night and he didn't play last night (the Panthers won 5-1)

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

I sometimes wonder if Vokun has a specific # of games he is supposed to play in a season. I would liked to have seen Clemenson in more since last year for whatever reason they gave up craig anderson to the Avs ant they are having a great season with him and we still suck.

The biggest problem is that we allow 40+ shots per game on average. It does not matter who the goalie is, even if the panthers make the playoffs, they won't go far with that principle. The method has to change not the goaltending. It frustrates me every year with Vokun where he is ok in the beginning of the game and for whatever reason loses it in the 3rd. Maybe he is tired by then. I don't know. I would think someone at that level would be more conditioned for that. From most of the highlights that I get to see most of the defense hang him out to dry so maybe team defense is what needs to be worked on. Thank goodness they didn't make a stupid promotion about giving free tickets if they don't make the playoffs like last year when they were in contention and just like the flyers this year seem to be droping out of a playoff spot.

Overall, it sucks to be a panthers fan. I don't know of any team that did not make the playoffs since the last time the panthers were there. I'll have to check but I think the panthers are the only team in the last 10 years that has not made the playoffs. That is dissapointing and the team management and buisness partners really should pay attention to this. This WILL cause people to walk away from going to games even if they are fans of the game. Besides, most of the games seem to favor the road teams at home games at this point. Washington, dallas, ny/nj teams, detroit, canada teams seem to have a bigger following than the home team in these games (I know I'm missing some). Its a bad season no matter how we look at it. Hopefully something changes next year because I qam getting tired of cheering for a team that gives up in the 3rd. You people are professionals who make so much more money then I will ever have and have personal trainers that I wish I could have.I want the players to give us a refund for every game they blow in the last minute of the 3rd. We have to be leading in that depressing statistic. :-(

Maybe that is why florida is nicknamed the "launching pad".

Brian and I are going to the game tonight...

On the topic of shots - there are far more taken that are blocked. The defense does a decent job at blocking shots, it's just scary the number they allow when blocked are added to those that actually make it to the goalie.

Vokun is out because of his back

Scott Clemmensen plays and wins a game for them

Why can't they have put him in earlier like when they knew they were out of the playoffs? I feel that Clemmensen is a talent going to waste by sitting on the bench. What a waste of a season.  Angry

I remember the first game of the season we went to and Clemmensen was in net and you said he was better than Vokoun.  I didn't believe you then.  I am drinking the kool-aid now.  The kid can straight up play.

What really sucks is that the Panthers have a stud goalie prospect who won't be in the NHL anytime soon, unless they can trade Vokoun's big contract (good luck with that).

No, thankfully they have realized they need a young goalie to build around, instead of always trying to use a stopgap veteran!
