Hopefully, we will still applaud him when he comes back to Miami.

Hard to believe the fins didn't make an effort to resign him.

Yay.  By which I mean S&*t.  He had 7 sacks last year while playing pass coverage half of his downs AND coming off the field on many third downs.  I heard the Jets promised him an all-pass-rush-all-the-time job to incentivize him to join up with their evil gang.  I hope Jake and Vern are ready for him...

As I said before:  we're going to be screaming about this by year-end when he's gotten 10 sacks with the Jets.  absolutely howling.  I don't care that he's 35.  He was still our best LB last year.

Does it really affect us that much? I mean of all the guys you could want to have to deal with JT, a Pro Bowl LT who's spent last year facing him in practice has gotta rank quite high right?

i don't get it at all.... they re-signed fergusen, he is pretty old, and will be suspended for the first 8 games.

even if they are targeting an olb with the first pick, i don't see how having jt on the team excludes them from still doing that. in fact i would argue drafting a stud olb with the first pick would benefit most by having jt to learn from.

Great move Dolphins!!! Way to get rid of that over-priced, over-hyped bum.

I can't wait to see how many "bashers" there now will be (e.g. "he's no good anymore", "he's old") when last week he was still "an awesome defensive player"). Smiley

I am certainly surprised.  I thought especially, after signing Marshall and talking to Taylor, that they'd get it done.  I still don't agree with the decision for either party, but what can you do?  I hope he's a huge failure.

The Jets overpaid, though.  According to nfl.com, it was 13 million for 2 years.

I'm seeing a lot of sudden hate for Jason Taylor on other boards.  I don't blame him.  Basically, the Dolphins told him to wait until the draft and if we don't find anyone better, then we might make you an offer.  I would have done the same thing JT did.

3.5 mil for the first year is the only important thing.

^^^

Oh

In that case, they didn't

Score this as bad move in Parcell's book.

Hopefully, his other moves (Marshall and Dansby) work out for the fish this year

Hopefully, we will be classy fans and not hate on him.  That guy gave his heart to this team for many years.

And what was he supposed to do?   The Fins didn't make him an offer.  If he was going to play, it had to be for the Jets.

Since you are quite the at home GM I'm surprised to hear you say this. Next year is the only uncapped season.

right, because how much of it is a signing bonus and will count against the second year cap if they cut him.

So they are willing to sign Ferguson when he'll only be there for half the season, but 3 million for JT is just too much?

This regime seems a little too enamored with bringing in and keeping their own players (see Wilford, Ernest).  They've pretty much treated Taylor like crap from the day they arrived.

When JT signs with the hated, stinking Jets, that tells you how badly the Dolphins' management has treated him.
