No Dolphins signed yet.

The Bears had all their picks signed more than two weeks ago (before June!), but other than that, not many draft picks have signed contracts yet. Yes, it helps that the Bears had no picks in the first two rounds...

There are numerous sites tracking (or trying to track) all the signings, so I'm surprised you couldn't find one. Here's a page that was updated yesterday (which I am, arbitrarily, going to assume means that it is up-to-date):

http://www.macsfootballblog.com/2010/04/2010-nfl-rookie-signing-status-team-by.html

If my quick counting was accurate, 52 draft picks have signed (according to the site above). 255 players were drafted.

It's early days, so there's very little pressure on anyone to get a deal done. It's all about getting the values set for this year, so once a sufficient number of contracts are signed in a given area of the draft, the others in that area will fill in rapidly. This domino effect is clearly seen in the 3rd round of this years' draft, which has seen a flurry of signings:

3.67 - Myron Lewis, S, Vanderbilt - Signed - 4-years, $2.72M ($930,100 signing bonus)
3.75 - Major Wright, S, Florida - Signed - 4-years, $2.635M ($844,700 guaranteed)
3.76 - Chad Jones, S, LSU - Signed - 4-years, $2.61M ($825,965 signing bonus)
3.81 - Earl Mitchell, DT, Arizona - Signed - 4-years, $2.578M ($788,500 signing bonus)
3.82 - Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Southern Methodist - Agreed to Terms - 3-years, financial terms undisclosed
3.83 - Corey Peters, DT, Kentucky - Signed - 4-years, $2.557M ($767,000 signing bonus)
3.90 - Taylor Price, WR, Ohio - Signed - 4-years, $2.494M ($704,600 signing bonus)

Notice how the amounts are all very neatly ordered according to draft slot. Anyone who wants a higher amount (or team wanting to give a lower amount) is going to have a harder time getting a deal done and thus likely won't be among the early signings.

Just looked and apparently Chris McCoy signed for 4 years (money unknown).  Haven't heard much about him at OTA's, but the idea is that he is being converted to linebacker and a bit of a project.  I think we took him in the 7th round.

I am expecting we will be seeing a lot more activity soon.

Dolphins agree to terms with rookie Austin Spitler
Posted by Michael David Smith on June 25, 2010 10:36 AM ET
The Miami Dolphins have reached a deal with another of their eight draft picks.

Mike Berardino of the Sun Sentinel reports that the Dolphins have agreed to terms with seventh-round pick Austin Spitler, a linebacker from Ohio State.

Spitler, who was taken with the 252nd overall pick, will sign a four-year, $1.83 million contract with a signing bonus of $40,000. He can make significantly more than that with a fourth-year escalator clause if he meets certain incentives.

The Dolphins targeted the front seven in this year's draft, as Spitler was one of five Dolphins draft picks who play linebacker or defensive line. As a rookie he's likely to make his biggest impact on special teams.

Miami has now signed three of its draft picks, with fourth-round linebacker A.J. Edds and seventh-round linebacker Chris McCoy already in the fold.

That 40 grand is the most important number, considering that this is a 7th rounder. Odds are good he won't make the team, so getting some coin in the bank is important.

^^^^

Unless he is horrible in camp he should at least get a year on the practice squad.  And while that ain't as good money as making the team, it doesn't pay too shabby.

I would be surprised if the situation was that clear cut. The practice squad only has 8 spots and there are going to be some players from previous year(s) as well, along with players cut from other teams.

Add Carroll to the mix.

Dolphins announce two signings
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on June 25, 2010 1:54 PM ET
Miami announced the signings of cornerback Nolan Carroll and linebacker Austin Spitler on Friday, meaning half of the team's eight man draft class is under contract.

Carroll, from Maryland, will try to make the team with his return skills. He missed most of his senior year with a broken leg.

Spitler, a seventh-round pick, didn't play a lot at Ohio State and was a bit of a surprise selection.  He's working at inside linebacker in Miami.

Glad to see this.  He is one of the draft picks I'm really excited about.  He might compete for the starting FS spot, but I see him as Bell's eventual replacement at SS.

one more.....

Fins finalize rookie deal with John Jerry
Posted by Evan Silva on July 20, 2010 3:55 PM ET
The Miami Dolphins overhauled their interior offensive line this offseason, trading away weak-side guard Justin Smiley and opening strong-side guard Donald Thomas' job to competition after his late-season benching.  There have even been indications that center Jake Grove's position is up for grabs.

The Fins might've found their starting left guard in the third round of April's draft.  John Jerry, a mauling right tackle at Ole Miss with a 6-foot-5, 332-pound frame and 34 1/4-inch arms, was Miami's selection at No. 73 overall.  While transitioning from the exterior of the line in college to the interior in the pros may prove something of a challenge, Jerry's makeup is better cutout for guard than tackle because of his limited athleticism but brute strength.

The Dolphins made sure Jerry would be in camp on time by signing him Tuesday to a four-year, $2.64 million contract.  Old pal Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times had the news first.

In Miami, Jerry will compete with Thomas and Nate Garner, the latter of whom wrapped up the '09 season in the starting lineup.  Jerry has an edge on Garner in terms of run-blocking upside and system fit.  The Dolphins run a power scheme up front, and Jerry is more powerful.

I forgot about this thread and posted an "Odrick Signed" thread, so here is the update on this thread.

Odrick and Misi both signed today (07/29/10).

Odrick is being reported by Sun-Sentinel.com

Misi is reported on this website...

The real source of the Misi signing is Jeff Darlington of the Herald:

Everything else out there right now just links back to that.
