So now it is not about pick - 6s, it is about all the all important "int per game" stat.  A very important stat you often see cited by football experts everywhere.

Never mind minor details like he didn't start in 1/4 of the game in the first four games.  Only having 12 and 19 attempts in those game and that even after that the Dolphins ran the ball a lot often and that early in the season he had a low number of attemps often in the 20s.  But later in the season they were having him air it out more with attempts in the 40s or 50s.

pennington has 3 in 588 pass attempts in dolphins uniforms, and 8 total in 2685 attempts.

If my abacus is working correctly (and it should be I just put fresh batteries in it) that means Penny threw 5 in 2103 attempts for the jets so a pretty rare 1 out of 420 attempts before his major operation in 2007 but since having his 2nd major operation it jumped in frequency to 1 out  196 attempts.  That is not the direction you want to see a QB heading.

Every team does that this time of the year, not just the Dolphins.  Everyone supposedly "looks good" in practice.  It's what happens when the games begin that counts.  If I recall correctly, Derek Hagen was supposedly having an awesome camp in 2008 and was gone by midseason.

This may be more right than many would think.  I know there is a trade penalty built into Pennington's contract but my understanding is he is being highly considered to fill the need at QB for the Vikings if Favre really isn't going to return.  Considering the Vikings would be considered a superbowl contender and Pennington would have a better chance to start there, I could see Pennington agreeing to the trade without penalty.

I would definitely not be surprised if it played out this way.

Yup, it happens.  There was a minority of  very vocal Patriots fans that condemned to Bledsoe to Bills trade, claiming instead Bledsoe should return to the helm and trade "one year wonder boy" while his stock was high.   They were not fully silenced until Brady had his second ring.  It was a small minority, but very vocal.
