Why do I keep reading all of this bullshit everywhere about Pat freaking White?

It's PAT WHITE - he's a total jobber who will last another year maximum in the NFL and who will most likely never complete a pass. What a total waste of a draft pick on some complete hack.

Don't hold your breath.  I don't think he makes the 53 man roster.

He had two pretty good kneel-downs at the end of the Tampa game.

Lost yardage again did he. Smiley

Well at least he didn't fail to spike the ball.  Saw one of the Dolphins QB's do that a couple years ago, the ball slipped out of his hand and he had to recover his own fumble and spike it again.  I think that was during the 1-15 season.  I think I quit watching after that.

I think you're referring to Cleo Lemon's performance in the Dolphins-Patriots matchup in December 2007.  He had a chance to lead a scoring drive towards the end of the half, and he spiked the ball on the first play when there was plenty of time left.  If I recall correctly, he ran for the sidelines on 4th down near the end zone and failed to stretch out the ball to get the touchdown on another drive.  Not surprisingly he found himself on another team the following season.

I'm shocked that New England let up in the second half and the Dolphins had a fighting chance in that game.

No actually I think it was Trent Green.  It was 1st down and they were trying to stop the clock, but when he tried to spike it the ball slipped out of his hand and he had to fall on it.  They they had to line up and run another spike play to stop the clock which brought up 3rd down.  Burned 2 plays just to stop the clock.  I thought I had seen everything prior to that moment.

Cutting a 28 point lead to 21 points isn't much of a fighting chance.

Reading more reports that White's days are numbered in Miami.  I just have to wonder exactly what Sparano and Tuna were thinking on this pick.  Was the WildPat the predicted use for him or did they really see him as a true QB?  I don't normally complain about wasted draft picks because the draft is just such a crapshoot anyway, but at least you normally pick a player that seems to fit a need on your team and Pat White really didn't.  They already had Henne and Pennington for QB's and they already had Ronnie and Ricky for RB's.  I just couldn't ever figure what they would do with him even if he did pan out better than he has.

I think he was drafter to give a better arm on wildcat plays since he was a good runner in college.  However, he's simply not big enough to cut the NFL game.

I think last year in camp they tried him at WR, as I saw him listed on the roster at WR early in camp.  Apparently that didn't work out.

However, it was an experiment gone wrong, and if they are willing to admit the mistake and move on, its a step in the right direction, rather than trying to develop something that just isn't there.

I think White was drafted with the idea of using him in the Wildcat and other gimmick plays.  Such as having someone other than the QB throw the ball down field or passes back to the QB.

White just isn't that talented and from some of the reports I read, not willing either, believing he ought be a standard QB, which he clearly isn't.

I've also read things over the last few years where White wasn't willing to move to another position (which is why the WR thing was short lived). When he was drafted, I remember saying to either Brian or Lil B that I felt they would move him to RB, since he was a great rushing QB in college, and his QB experience would make him very dangerous when they pulled a trick play or two.

Something tells me that after he gets cut, he'll be willing to try other positions in order to stay in the NFL.

White has said he would rather play baseball than do that.  And based on what I have read he is a much better baseball player than football player.

I thought the same, but when I actually saw him out there, he looked ridiculously small. I know he supposedly put on 18 pounds, but to be a decent RB in the NFL, I think he'd need at least twice that.
