I reserve the right to wait until after preseason. At this point I would go 8-8 as I really have nothing to base it on.

11-5 (if the defense matures), otherwise 8-8.  I will be at the opener in Buffalo, 40 yard line, 15 rows up; looking forward to an opening day win!!

11-5, tied with the Patriots atop the AFC East. Two wins each against the Bills and Jets.

Some of the recent roster moves (especially picking up Bobby Carpenter who is so horrible that even the Rams cut him) make me think that the Dolphins have roster talent issues.  A couple of weeks ago, I might have thought the Fins would go 10-6.  But recent issues have me concerned.   I'm going to make my official prediction as the Fins having an 8-8 season.  I hope that I'm wrong and that they will do much better.   We'll see.

I'd love to say 10-6, but A LOT of things would have to go really great, and this team has not instilled a lot of optimism in me as of late.  This year 8-8 is probably more realistic.  The O-line and the lack of defense scare me.

The first half of the schedule will keep the Dolphins out of the playoffs.

I'm looking at a few ominous harbingers:  offensive line still in flux, defensive secondary still in flux, unproven commodities at linebacker and defensive line, aging running backs, a QB still cutting his teeth...  I think this year will be a growing pains kind of year due to all the youth, so I'll peg them for an inconsistent 9-7 (they'll look great one week, what-the-hell awful the next).

I really want to be optimistic, but what I've seen this preseason isn't lending itself to optimism.

Dolphins finish: 7-9

Third place in the AFC East.

Disappointment abounds...

I am going with 8-8 now that the roster is set.  I am preparing myself for some heartbreakers.

-We have too many new pieces.
-I thought our O-line would be more ready than they are.
-I didn't expect Smith to take a step back.
-Henne and Marshal look like they need a little more time together to be a consistant threat.
-We already seem to have a bit of an injury bug this year.
-Our schedule and division are particularly difficult.
-Dansby and Crowder aren't strong enough leaders for this young of a defense, IMO.
-Our special teams looks to be taking a step back.
-Hartline even looks a little shaky right now.

Many concerns for me.  We have nice ingredients, but this thing looks a little raw and needs to bake for a while.
