It's like all entertainment stuff goes away all at once.

There are a few shows I like, but they're almost all in the off-season, except for Science/Discovery/History channel type stuff.

I'm really looking forward to The Walking Dead, which is premiering on AMC this Halloween.  Check out the trailer: http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv/2010/08/24/2010-08-24_walking_dead_trailer_from_frank_darabont_and_amc_brings_zombies_guts_and_lots_of.html

Looks super dope.

I'm also awaiting the return of Dexter and this new show on HBO called Game of Thrones, which came recommended by a few trusted friends

I gave up on True Blood.  It's just too crazy for me, with all that's going on with vampires, werewolves, pixies, shape-shifters, etc.  I was on board when it was just vampires, but I was unable to keep interest.

I'm interested in two new shows this fall:

The Event - I don't know anything about it, which is why I'm intrigued by the hype.

Outsourced - Its a sit-com, and looks funny as hell.

Otherwise, I'm just going to keep watching Pawn Stars, Mythbusters, and reruns of The Office.

Dave,

I don't know how you feel about USA Network, but I actually quite enjoy Covert Affairs, Psych, and Royal Pains.  They're on successive nights (Tue-Wed-Thurs), so there's something to watch each night.  A couple of the guys here at work also swear by Burn Notice.

I have tried to watch some of those shows, but I just can't get into them.  They're very serialized and kinda corny.  My 70 year old Mom loves Burn Notice.  I don't think it's bad, but I'd rather watch something a little more edgy or gritty.

I thought the same thing about Burn Notice, but I found it grows on you. I was stuck waiting around the house for some maintenance guys during one of USA's many "marathons." After 4 or 5 episodes, you start to like the characters. Besides, how can you not like something with Bruce Campbell?

The best thing on TV now is Rescue Me.

Burn Notice- rocks
Eureka- Pure gold
Covert Affairs- La Femme Nikita light but fun
Rozzeli and Eisles- Actually not a bad show
Royal Pains- It has kinda grown on me

Sons of Anarchy starts again in a couple weeks too.

If Walking Dead is based on the comic series, it should rock.

Louie on FX is a pretty funny show.

I liked the Hard Times of R.J. Berger.  The season finally just aired Monday.

Entourage is still one of my favorites.

Even with all the craziness I still dig True Blood.

Futurama is more dope now than in previous seasons.

This was filmed on my block. The hurricane one where they're cleaning up the yard is just around the block from me.
The show is entertaining enough for a Sunday afternoon.

I read the comic and from what I've seen of that trailer, it's exact.  I'm sure down the line, they'll change stuff around, as the show evolves into its own thing, but so far, the characters all look exactly like their counterparts and the story is the same.

Pretty cool. Did you watch any of the filming? I agree, it is not a great show but definitely fills a gap if you are looking for something to watch.

I did a bit, but they were just doing stuff in teh yard. Oddly, I couldn't figure out why they had all those branches and stuff around. It was supposed to look like after a hurricane. Duh...

Really? I have not caught any of the new Futurama episodes. I bought all five seasons though. I was glad they brought it back. It is sad the Family Guy which is a rip off of South Park gets so much attention, and a show like Futurama with much better writing and does not have to make bathroom humor its staple for laughs gets canned is a sad commentary on our country's taste.

Uhm... What?

Family Guy and South Park have very little to do with each other, except for profanity. They have disparate casts, settings and story lines. How is Family Guy a rip off of South Park?
