**Disclaimer** I've not seen any new shows for a few weeks **disclaimer**

I'm surprised to hear a bunch of guy's watching Royal pains...I've watched the show from the beginning
I like Royal Pains,Burn Notice, (Just got into a few weeks ago,two thumbs up) Warehouse 13, and saw the premiere episode of Covert affairs.I've seen the same 2 episodes of season two of Being human season two it's not quite as good as season one, but I still like it a lot.Just prior to the latest season I got into Ice road truckers,it's the only show I've been able to keep up with..(must be me missing my old driving job Lol)

The only shows I'm waiting to see is Dexter, and Destination truth..Nothing New....

Slight hijack....I think it's funny, I don't like any shows on NBC prime time, yet I like their original cable shows on USA,and Scifi...go figure...End hijack

I keep seeing ads for chase, and and the event...neither looks good to me...but I'm seriously tired of the commercials...

I have just started watching Hard Knocks, the HBO documentary about Jets training camp.  It's good.  It's really funny, too.  It makes you have some sympathy for some of the Jets players though, which is bad.

^^^ I don't get the sympathy part. What created sympathy for you? The only thing I can imagine are when they players get cut, but then they aren't Jets' players at that point.

^ It's players getting cut sometimes.

The big thing for me was seeing guys get injured.  This one really huge dude tore his Achilles last week, so you have to see him get carried into the stadium x-ray room and get a diagnosis and everything, after working so hard.

Uhm... What?

Family Guy and South Park have very little to do with each other, except for profanity. They have disparate casts, settings and story lines. How is Family Guy a rip off of South Park?

1. Both shows use the humdrum aspects of small-town life as perfect backdrops for bizarre happenings. South Park is a menagerie of rednecks and yuppies, sociopaths and stereotypes. However, it is the group of children that carry the show through its satirical and cynical humor. Family Guy similarly populates the small town of Quahog, Rhode Island with an army of eccentric and cameo appearances

2. Also I should have said blatant Simpson's ripoff too. Both shows feature a family where everything that seems to go wrong centers around the bumbling father and is set in a fictional town with eccentric characters and cameos by famous people.

Yeah you are right Family Guy is ground breaking new comedy.

I was going to respond meaningfully until this diatribe, which isn't remotely related to anything I wrote. Pathetic.

I list reasons why Family Guy is percieved to be a ripoof of not one but two highly succesful older cartoons and you are getting mad over one sentence? Please.

I directly refuted your statement that besides profanity they are completely different settings, hence it could logically be concluded that you do think it is a refreshing and new ground breaking comedy.
I did intentionally load that last sentence down with tons of sarcasm because even McFarlane could not defend himself against accusations and episodes by the creators of South Park and the Simpsons that he is copying their formulas and ripping them off. They may all laugh it off later, but the facts are there.
But hey don't defend your position because of a little sarcasm.

Awesome on both counts.  I'm willing to bet that most of the people on this website would love The League.  It's about fantasy football and hilarious!

^^^I don't like when people say that The League is about fantasy football. I think it automatically turns some people off from giving it a try when they would otherwise enjoy the show. I think the show is about the relationships formed between a group of guys with the twist of fantasy football being their common link. Saying the show is about fantasy football takes so much away from what it actually is I think.

True, but I think the same can be said about lots of shows.  The jokes, often, are those that only someone who has played fantasy football will get, though, and the entire premise of the show is around their league and their trash talking, bets, etc.

^^^ I get the most humor out of what is not football related though. Don't get me wrong, I do know there are football jokes, but there is so much more to their story line (otherwise it really wouldn't last very long at all. There is only so much humor behind football in itself). The guys going over to Ruxin's house on game day. Sure it was game day, but the story really took place outside of football. Mr. McGibbletts, that was good stuff. Eskimo Brothers, I'd never heard of it before but I sure do use the terminology now.

I'm not much of a TV watcher now that I have the internet.  I pretty much only watch sports and movies on TV.

Anyone ever catch Pure Pwnage? www.purepwnage.com

If you call yourself a gamer you owe it to yourself to check this out.  If you've never watched before, click on the "Pure Pwnage Noob" introduction and watch the first episode of season 1.  Explains a lot.
