Really like what I saw from the rook in week one...he didn't rack the tackles total (think he only had 1 or 2), but it seemed like he was in on a lot of plays...always around the ball. This defense needs to have him out there developing on the fly, not on the trainer's table.

Hopefully the bone bruise in his leg gets better soon...

Dolphins rookie Jared Odrick expected to miss six weeks

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on September 14, 2010 8:55 PM ET

Tuesday is supposed to be the quiet day of the NFL week, but this one has been
action-packed and devastating for many of the injured players in the league.

Dolphins defensive end Jared Odrick, the team's first-round pick, is expected to miss six weeks of action with a broken fibula, according to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network.

Odrick started in Week One against the Bills and was one of many Dolphins defenders to smother the Bills offense on Sunday.   With Philip Merling done for the season, what looked like a position of strength in Miami now looks a little bit thin.

Well, this is disturbing news.  Who's next up on the depth chart?

At least a bone fracture is easier to get over than soft tissue damage.

Tony McDaniel was n there last week after Odrick got hurt...I think it's a pretty good start....I think he's a better pass rusher, than run stuffer...Off the top of my head like 6'6 310#'s...

I know you like to rip on PFT, but if you looked at the link, he was passing along what was reported by  Jason La Canfora from NFL Network. NFL Network has been saying 6 weeks all morning.

This appears to be the second time Odrick has fractured the same fibula in three years and he has had a plate inserted since the first one. I hope we don't continue to hear about this.
