Everyone has trouble running from predators in dreams, but I have a big problem in my dreams: I can't drive.  It feels like I'm driving on ice.  The car is unresponsive, the brakes don't work, I can't turn, and I'm always crashing into things.  It feels really, really real.

I also can't have sex.  It blows.  My morality comes with me into my dreams and I always remain faithful, only to be mad at myself when I wake up.

So I'm guessing that you've never had a dream in which you realized you were dreaming.

To dream that you are driving a vehicle, signifies your life's journey and your path in life. The dream is telling of how you are moving and navigating through life. If you are driving and cannot see the road ahead of you, then it indicates that you do not know where you are headed in life and what you really want to do with yourself. You are lacking direction and goals.

Metaphorically, driving a car in your dream, is analogous to your sex life and sexual performance. Consider how you are driving and what kind of car you are driving and how it relates to your waking sex life.

So, I had this dream last night where I was driving a limousine full of hot naked midget sluts through a slalom road race course while being pursued by a race car being driven by the Pope, with Barrack Obama riding shotgun. As I deftly maneuver the limousine through the crazy hairpin turns, the midget sluts deftly maneuver themselves so that they rotate around and each get 10-15 minutes of sex time on top of me while I'm driving.

I realize at some point that the faster I screw these midget sluts, the faster the limousine goes, and the more distance I put between our limousine and the Pope/Obama pursuit. So, I speed up my humping until all you can see is a nasty blur of genitalia and all you can smell is burning midget. I realize after a while that I'd gone so fast that I lapped the Pope/Obama race car, and with an evil grin, I ram the Pope/Obama race car from behind, sending it spinning off the road, where it explodes into flames. All the midget sluts start cheering my name...

...and I woke up with the biggest smile on my face.

For me, I think my dreams are an extension what I'm thinking as I'm falling asleep...I have a hard time shutting off my mind, when trying to fall asleep,or I tend to dwell on my life/day/problem.My dreams the past few years have been a continual argument with myself,on what ever is happening with my life. If it's a case at work,I'm going through scenarios, over, and over all night....If I'm thinking about a 3d projects,it might be visualizing something I'm struggling with, and almost working on it in my head....While this sounds like a great thing, it never lets me relax,I struggle with holding all the thoughts in...

Dave said predators in dreams, mine is kind of like that in reverse.

I have a recurring nightmare that someone is beating Mrs. Finn to death and one of two things happens.  Though I can hear her screaming I either can't find her, or I can get in the room but when I pull my trusty .44 it jams and I get my head blown off.

The other one I have a recurring dream about my grandfather who died of a stroke.  For the last two weeks of his life he couldn't talk.  So in my dreams he doesn't talk he shakes his head makes faces points his fingers all that but no sound.

I have, on very limited occasions, but time moves slowly and (like with driving), I can't get things to fall into place like I want.   ...or time seems to go really slow and I wake up before I can get anything "accomplished".

So the key to dreaming is to realize that expectations become reality; like some comic-book character that I can't recall, events are determined by your belief in them.

In the past, I did a lot of research on lucid dreaming (a dream in which you know it's a dream); it's a pretty interesting subject.  A common theme in my older dreams was that I frequently had the ability to slowly levitate... later, I read that other people dreamt that they could swim through the air, or imagine that there was an invisible force coming out of their hands that pushed them up and away.  So I started dreaming that I could fly like Neo (from the Matrix), and now I can fly pretty damned fast in my dreams (as opposed to the slow levitation from before).

The cool thing is that I've done it enough that I can also fly in a lot of non-lucid dreams.  The problem is that sometimes, doubt starts to creep in, and I start to lose my flying ability.  So it's very much dependent on the strength of your convictions.

I rarely have "nightmares" any more, because whenever I feel the kind of abject terror that accompanies nightmares, I tend to realize it for what it is, and then it turns into more of an action flick.  I used to just freeze whoever is following me, but (again) if I am not completely convinced that they can't break out, they break out.  So now I tend to just throw them really far away (like past the horizon).

Lucid dreaming is a very interesting experience.  In order to have one, you need to train yourself to perform what's called a "reality test."  There are certain things that don't work properly in dreams, and anytime you think you might be dreaming, you just perform a reality test and if it fails, game on.  Here are some of my favorites:

- Light switches: normally, a light switch will work in a dream, but if you flick a light switch on and off really fast, your brain can't handle it and it'll just stop working.
- Reading: if you read a piece of paper, then look away and look back, the paper will contain completely different text.
- Clocks: if you look at the time on a clock, then look away and look back, it'll be a completely different time.

The latter is the one I use the most, as I always wear a watch (once, my brain tried to trick me by getting rid of my watch when I tried to do a reality test; I wasn't fooled).

I have a LOT of dreams where there is something stuck in my teeth and I can't talk or scream. It seems to be gum or something chewy. Maybe a candy? They're not usually nightmares or anything, but they really stress me out.

For what it's worth, I think that anything that's supposed to mean something in your dreams is bullshit.

When a person falls asleep, they have many dreams.  The dreams that people remember almost exclusively come from moments before they wake up, only because that was the most recent occurrence before awakening.

I usually have recurring dreams about fighting someone who has wronged me...whether with bare fists, knives or guns.  Everything I ever do "offensively" is in slow motion and it seems it has not effect.  On the other hand, my "opponent" never retaliates, or at least doesn't successfully retaliate.  It usually ends with my slow motion "offensive attack" luckily connecting in some way (think how Luke destroyed the Death Star).

I did have a crazy dream where these crazy ass rednecks killed my dad and shot me up pretty bad as well.  I recovered, but my dad died.  I hunted down the redneck guys, but the slow motion thing kicked in again and they shot me up again.  They didn't kill me, and I recovered and hunted them down again.  I got the jump on them this time, and was face to face with their "leader", who ended up being Sawyer from the show Lost.  He said he was the one that shot my dad, then busted out a gun out of no where.  I dodged it almost Matrix style and shot and killed him.  Then I picked up a shot gun from one of the "henchmen?" and used the butt of the gun to bash his head in over and over.  NOW WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN?

Lol, I don't really believe in dreams amounting to too much, but sometimes they have some validity to them.  My dream is telling me to kill Sawyer.  Cheesy

I can't have sex in my dreams either. I'll get up to the point of entry and I'll wake up. My wife and I were talking about this the other day. SHE gets nookie in her dreams, but I don't. I'm jealous, dammit!

I can't run, fight (like punch, it's in slow motion and I barely connect) or scream in my dreams.  I remember (loosely) one dream where I was hunted by something and trying to scream and all that came out was a whisper.

Sex - it's odd.  I can have sex in my dreams but I can't orgasm.  I have to wonder if this is some weird "real life" tie in with the body's desire to not release fluids (IE, urine) at night?
