What the hell was Henning thinking?  Seriously, what's the best that comes out of that play?  There's no way you're going to get 6 yards on a draw up the middle, and Ronnie just stood there for a 5 yard loss, which put us out of field goal range.

I'm all for risk vs. reward, but that seemed like all risk, without the possibility of reward.  I was speechless when they did that last night.  The crowd booed it, too.  Rightfully so.

I just don't understand how a guy can be a professional coach and call that play.  I just don't get it.

Dave, I was shocked at that play call. I was screaming at the television. The offense had really been flowing and clicking at that point, and it seems like that play just killed it. Some people have argued that its no more than a running play, but if it was a standard formation, the defense would'nt have known it was a run. When its the wildcat formation, they know its a run.

Hated that call.  Especially because Ronnie had no choice but to eat the ball.  until they can solve the problem of the weakside corner and the opposite-side safety blitzing (taking away the wide runs), I don't know how much value the Wildcat will bring.

Play-calling has been a consistent problem under Henning.

I get that fans NEVER agree with a play call when it doesn't succeed, but still... it's been pretty bad.

They just got rid of Bonamego.  If I were Henning, I wouldn't relax too much.  He may be next.

God, I hope so.  The 3rd & 6 call was one of the dumbest calls I've seen all season.  It had zero chance to succeed.  The only call worse than that was 4th & 2 in the 4th quarter.  After Bellicheat called a timeout to specifically stop a play in the formation the Fins lined up in, Henning inexplicably rolls out the exact same formation and POOF all hope gone.

Henning doesn't seem to understand basic, fundamental issues of play calling.  And supposedly, the basics are supposed to be his strong suit.  HE MUST GO NOW!

I agree he must go, but your comment points something out. I don't think its that Henning doesn't understand basic, fundamental issues of playcalling. That is his strong suit and he does understand them. But for whatever reason, he always tries to be too "cute" and tries to do something different, almost as if he thinks he'll catch the defense off guard.

Oh, I'm sure he's guilty of trying to get too cute also.

I'm also saying that in addition to outsmarting himself, he's "lost a little off his fastball," so to speak, when it comes to his basic coaching abilities.  But then again, I've never thought highly of the guy since he was coaching with Joe Gibbs.
