I was raving about this dude but no more, he's slow. He can't make the reads in time to make plays. He has a nice arm and can make all the throws, but that does you no good of you're late finding the open receivers. Embarrassed

And i'm ready for a new O coordinator, our system sucks. We can't generate enough points. Anybody else notice how fast our games go by? That's fine if we are ahead all the time. but we're not.  We can never dig out of a hole under this system...

*sigh*

Here's my take on Henne.

He COULD be good, but needs more coaching.  He's AVERAGE now.  I think too many people are expecting him to be Dan Marino right now.

As you said he can make all the throws.  That's the part that you can't teach.  He needs to learn things like reading defense and not staring down receivers.  That's stuff he can practice and get better at.

I hope he improves, because he could be great, but as is, he needs more work.

henne taking too much heat for last night. he's entitled to a bad game here and there has he ever thrown 2 picks in a game? or if he has its been awhile. Even with the 2 ints the game still could have been had if not for not so special teams

I wasn't impressed with Henne last night, but still think he can develop into a quality starter. I like the fact that the offense is at least starting to take the training wheels off Henne and allowing him to take some chances.

Henne was pure shit last night.

Those picks cost the fish the game.  It should have been Miami up by multiple scores at halfime.

I am on the fence with Henne.  But the original post in this thread is actually very dead on (IMO) as to two major concerns I have.

1 - Henne has an incredible amount of time to throw the ball.  It would make more sense to give a guy a little extra benefit of doubt if his protection is poor.  You could also give him leniency if the receivers aren't getting open, but he has great protection and he isn't going all the way through his reads to find the open receiver.  You can see the open players he isn't even looking toward.  Henne has a great arm and good poise, but he has to start showing that he can get through his reads and do it faster (IMO).

2 - I see a change in O-coordinator in the relatively near future.  Between Henning being old and his system being mediocre, I just don't see how Sparano and Ireland don't go ahead and give Henning his return to retirement.  The problem is that it usually takes longer to get adjusted with a new offensive coordinator than defensive coordinator and I am concerned that it will really set us back a few years.

I believe your opinion has been properly beaten into the ground as wrong.

P.S. Yes, I know opinions can be right or wrong but I believe the consensus is that while Henne didn't help, the Special Teams blew it.

RAVENS GAME BEFORE THE HALF

prime example of why henne sucks....

bess wide open, late with the throw....and then missed a wide open receiver in the endzone

henne is the reason we are not scoring TD's

I think its time for Penniginton.   Henne is too afraid to throw the ball downfield...  with Bees, Hartline, Fasano, and Marshall  someone has got to be open deep down field at some point in the game..  They all can't be covered all of the time.  The offensive line is doing a great job but all henne wants to throw is checkdown throws.  lets see what Penny can do.   Its week 9 and were at .500 ball.   I'm  calling for Penny
