2011 NFC East Champions!

I just want to point out that I made a coherent, logical, and vitriol-free argument as to why the official's call was an excellent one. Instead of defending your stance in an equally-coherent manner, you said:

So, your whole point is taking a TO to reset the team after a bad call, is the reason why Sporano isn't a NFL head coach?
Good luck defending that.

No, as I've stated, my "whole point" is that Sparano:

1. Has ridiculous (the bad kind) clock-management skills
2. Has horrible time-out management skills
3. Has poor management skills

So, taking a TO to reset the team after the ruling on the field is ~ 1/3rd of my point.

Thanks.

hell, you should replay every pile up on a fumble recovery because there is no way to tell who actually recovers the ball until they emerge from the pile with the ball.

Yes, that's exactly what we should do. Because that would have won the Dolphins the game - not the 1-for-5 FG to TD in the Red Zone ratio that the Dolphins enjoyed, or not the lack of Timeouts with Pittsburgh having all three timeouts and at worse, the Dolphins ball at their own 20 if the call was overturned and if Miami had been proved to regain possession of the ball, which would not have even come close to guaranteeing a victory for the Dolphins. Based on this excellent call, we should review every pile up situation.

They usually give it to the first who falls on it, or whoever comes up with it.

No, they absolutely do NOT. But let's say that they did - the Dolphins guy was the first to fall on it. But, you don't know who eventually came up with it (Roethlisberger is so far the only player from either team whom has claimed to recover the fumble at the end of the pile). So, it's a coin-flip, and the Dolphins lost the coin flip. They still could have gotten an offensive series together and gotten into FG range to win it - but they didn't - a fact that a lot of you are conveniently forgetting about.

Ah yes JTex the angsty drama queen finds fault because the refs made a call I have never seen used in any level of football in the almost 30 years I have been watching it.
How pathetic is your life that you have to continually have to go to other teams lives and do nothing but talk crap.

Of all the replies, this one is my favorite. It's sharp, aggressive, and full of venom. It's also badly constructed:

"How pathetic is your life that you have to continually have to go to other teams lives and do nothing but talk crap."

I "have to" "go to other teams lives"? English write much?

At least you beat Sunstroke in playing the "angst" card - because that well hasn't run dry or anything.

How is your trolling vitriol free?  Your first post was the very stuff of trolling vitriol.

I don't think that trolling, by definition can be vitriol free, especially given the source of said trolling.

Did we stop the Steelers from getting a 1st down on any 3rd down attempts today? Seriously. The defense usually came up big on 1st and 2nd downs, and then would do nothing on 3rd down. WTH?

They showed a stat at one point that Roethlisberger was 7 of 8 with like 100 and something (138 or 178) yds on 3rd down.

It seems to be a recurring theme in a lot of games this year....

it was a problem for the secondary, but you got to give a little credit to rapistberger. just the sound of giving him credit makes me want to throw up, but yeah he made some great plays.

henne could learn a little there. being able to be fluid in the pocket (stepping up, sidestepping, shuffling, etc...), really makes it hard on the secondary in maintaining coverage.

Yeah so was Marino.

Marino made up for his lack of mobility with exceptional passing skills.  He also had an uncanny ability to make one step to get out of the way and let his rocket fast release do the talking.

Henne has an exceptional arm.  He's still working on the rest.  I don't know if he can improve his mobility in some little way, but naturally agile he is not.

Bullshit. There is video of who came up with it.

^^^WHY didn't that video appear on CBS as they endlessly replayed the fumble?  They made it seem as though no video was available.

Anyway...Gotta give mine to Jason Allen, as he was the most visibly charred member of the Dolphins secondary that gave up 300 yards + to the Steelers' passing game.  I don't know if he was supposed to have safety help on the long play to Mike Wallace, but damn.  For having sub-4.4 speed himself, Allen looked slow as Wallace blew by him.

Is it possible you missed it? We knew Miami came out of the pile with the ball where I was.

They gave some BS excuse about it taking too long to determine it on video.  Apparently this happened like 30 seconds or so after the scrum ensued and they said that's not enough evidence to rule decisively.  The whole thing is pure BS and I don't care what the NFL or ESPN says.  They MADE the wrong call, they KNEW they made the wrong call and they couldn't care less because they're not about trying to get the call right, they're all about protecting the league from criticism.  They WANT you to believe there's no evidence that Maimi recovered the ball.  It's a joke.

That ref Gene Steratore.  From what I've heard, Dolphins fans nationwide are calling his supply business in Pittsburgh and harassing his employees to no end.

Maybe Dolphins fans under the age of 12 are doing that....
