Just read that on rotoworld. Hennig is 69, and is 31st in the league in points scored. So, if he doesn't retire he may actually be fired.

At this point, he should just step down and spare himself from being fired.

1) Too little too late

2) They are ALL gonna be fired on Jan 3rd! lol. If he wants to quit beforehand to save himself the shame, so be it.

If they do overhaul everyone, it will be a shame.  Unfortunately, fans are reactionary and stupid.  I hope that Ross isn't the kind of owner that listens to fans of the team over smart football minds.

Hire the DC of the Browns to be the head coach of the Dolphins....AFCE will be a complete three ring circus.

I'm just asking for one more year out of Sparano...One more year to show us something, then move on to another coach if it's more of the same.

You fire the coach, you reset to zero.  Then while you wait 2-3 years for the next guy to bring in all "his people" and "his players" and completely revamp everything, the team goes 5-11 every year and people get fed up and want to fire him too.

Let's stop this cycle of silliness and get some continuity at head coach for a change.  He's only had 3 seasons to pick up a 1-15 team.  Let the guy work.

I agree, but I also think that four years is the limit.  Having said that, he gets us into the playoffs next year, then give him another year.  That would make him 2-2 getting us in the playoffs.  I'm all for that.

I'm with giving Sparano another yr... but, this ultra conservative play for the field goal not to win crap has to stop!!!

I don't understand how coaches expect their defenses to bail them out all the time...  If you know your defense has kept you in the game all day how can you keep telling them just go out and stop them again when you're playing for FG's?

I played defense my entire life and it sucked to loose games because your offense kept playing not to loose rather than attacking the other defense.

They have no choice! The team sucked this year. Coaching was a HUGE part of it. Sparano was terrible this season. You bring in Dansby and Marshall and break the bank for them and you see no improvement at all. None! In fact we regressed with those 2!

1-6 home record. Even though "announced sell-outs" its been half empty stadium since the New England home game. The fans gave up on this team early on. Ross is losing money hand over fist. And the team failed on every level.

The ONLY way Sparano is safe is if with the LOCKOUT Ross puts this off for a year. Doesn't give Sprano an extension and Sparano is a lame-duck coach next year working without a new deal. Meaning Ross pretty much gives up on next year just to save a few bucks. Which i wouldn't agree with that, but I would understand Ross's logic behind it with this unknown LOCKOUT looming.

When TB fired Dungy and hired Gruden did they wait 2-3 years? When Cowher retired and Tomlin took over did they wait 2-3 years? Please!  When Rex Ryan took over for Mangini were they NOT in the AFC Championship game immediatly with a rookie QB?

Ross and Sparano not speaking

Tony Sparano has not seen Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is some time and consequently has not received any assurances he will continue to be the Dolphins head coach in 2011. But, in case you're wondering, he is endorsing offensive coordinator Dan Henning as his guy.

No, not the entire coaching staff, just the head coach, offensive coordinator, special teams coach and maybe a few others.
