Sorry Jvides,thunder...I disagree with both of you on Ricky,I agree we should have ran the ball more (use Cobbs more, Hillard more, hell even polite)...BUT....Ricky's Stats, carries, yards, avg are almost identical to what he had in 2008....When you lean on him he fumbles...Injury to Ronnie last year, we needed him to carry the ball more,I think he got the delusions of his past....

I think they should all shut up....Not just Ricky,Marshall too...

Actually he is saying one thing that is different.  He is planning on changing teams.  Other than one rant by Maine which I doubt he sticks with, I don't think many of you are will be rooting for another team next year.

Yeah, kinda.  It's bad form to talk poorly about your coach to the media.  It shows a lack of character, I believe.  I prefer people who say "thanks for the opportunity" and move on...not throw their colleagues under the bus.

IMO very Terrell Owens Like...Hmmm Talk about wanting to go to play for another team while still employed by your current team, throwing other people under the bus on the way out the door...

Well that might be better politically speaking for the team and definately during the year I don't want people airing their grievances to the media, but I prefer honesty this time of year.  Guys that were there in the locker room and on the playing field have a better take on it than you and I or at least they should.  I'd like to hear what they honestly think.  Now maybe that's not real kind and maybe it's a bit biased too, but I'd still like to hear it.  I think it's good to air the dirty laundry so it can be addressed rather than let it sit in the locker room for another year stinking the place up.

^^^ he never opens his mouth once the entire three years under this regime, then at the very end on the way out as he is getting paid for access to his thoughts, he talks a whole lot of crap about everything.

that is the base definition of the word douchebag.

listen to the interview, and he sounds stoned. he just talks in circles, makes no sense. again, he's a perfect fit for what the jets are after in the makeup of their football team. overpaid, old, me guys. not the type of guys that win championships for you. good riddance clown.

btw - darlington this morning on joe rose show said unequivocally that ricky does not in any way speak for the majority of that locker room. his feelings are in no way representative of folks inside.

Depends on why he did it.  Granted that I wish he would have left out the part about the Jets or the Patriots, that's douchey, but if he said the rest of what he said because he really would like to see the Dolphins get better, then I don't have a problem with him opening his mouth about what he thought the problems were.

Just like Ricky's comments you have to take that with a grain of salt.  Those guys might be looking out for themselves and hope to be back with the Dolphins next year.

As far as Ricky's comments, I tend to agree with him.

On being used improperly:  both he and Ronnie Brown were completely underused this year.  Both have reputations as grinders who get bigger chunks of yards as games wear on and defenses tire, but often only got token carries in the first half and almost nothing in the second.

On Sparano being overbearing:  Yeah, I can definitely see this.  Players have been hinting at this all season, explaining how Sparano always has something to say to you when you come off the field, and that no one escapes his criticism.  I could see that becoming too much as the season wears on.

On admiring LT and the Jets:  Why not?  LT's the best RB of his generation.  Why wouldn't Ricky admire him?  Why wouldn't Ricky be jealous that the Jets and Pats could become successful so quickly and remain successful for a long period of time, respectively?  Especially since he's been stuck in neutral for his entire career on a team that just cannot seem to improve?

On only speaking to the media when paid:  Why not?  His post-it contract's a joke, he may still be on the hook to Huizenga for $8 Million or whatever it was, and he's got a bunch of kids.  I'm not saying all that's someone else's fault, I'm just saying I don't fault the guy for maximizing his revenue while he's still relevant.

I'm no fan of Ricky Williams.  I've distrusted him ever since his "retirement".  But I'm not going to slam him just because, either.  To me, he spoke the truth.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

ricky, on his way out of town, now becomes the official spokesperson of the miami dolphins players. great job ricky, great leader, that's the type of guy that is going to lead you to a championship.

?  Did you want him to say this during the year and take complete control away from sparano?

he says nothing about what he did to help the team with what he felt were things that were off track.

for example, he complains about a lack of focus this past week. says nothing about him approaching such and such coach to talk about what he thought the team was at. nothing about how he did something to make things better.

just totally throws everything and everyone under the bus, makes no mention where he went wrong, what he could have done better, and makes no mention as to how he tried to help.

pretty arrogant, hypocritical, selfish, basically all qualities of a person that don't contribute in any way to building a successful organization.

I love Ricky, as many of you know.

And I don't have a problem with honesty, but there are places to say these things, like behind closed doors to Ross, but I don't think what is essentially "I'm not coming back ... by the way, your coach blows" is productive.  If he was staying with the team, he should bring his concerns to Ross.  If he's not staying with the team, his comments are not intended to help the team anyway.

It's a dick move, even if accurate.

This is really classless on his part to throw your teamates under the bus.  He had gained back some of my respect the last couple years, but this justs sets things back to when he abandoned his team.  The only statement that concerns me is that he said Sparano "lost the locker room", if the rest of the team feels this way Sparano needs to go.  Ross needs to investigate this with the player leaders.  Wanny's looking for a job, maybe he'll come back??
