Sammie Smith, I thought we had found someone to play RB at first.

is it worst player, like most deserving of ROD, or worst selection, like best player, maybe didn't deserve to be nominated?

It's up to your discretion as to what the word "worst" means here. This is why I like asking for comments from voters, so we can read where people are coming from.

Problem with that (as a opposed to pick your own criteria for the cheerleader thread) is it yield completely opposite results.

Worst needs a single definition -- either the player most deserving of the ROD, or least deserving of the ROD.

^ I don't think it does. Part of the open-endedness of these polls is to generate discussion about it. If it's too clear-cut, it's just an ESPN type poll without any feedback or commentary.

Besides, If I were to consider defining the word "Worst", I would feel the need to make a separate poll for each thread. For example, "Most deserving of the ROD" and "Least deserving of the ROD" would be two separate polls and subjects.

Maybe someone (a Mod) can start a mirrored thread on the Dolphins forum... an anti "Anti-Fins" poll for each one made here.

He means worst person who happens to be in the ROD.  Or BEST ROD selection.

I picked Sammie Smith.  That guy sucked and was a high pick on top of it.  What a bum.

Sammie Smith cost us at least 2 or 3 games by himself and his fumbles.  He sucks.

I'll never forget this story.

In 1991-1992, I was 12-13 and collected football / basketball trading cards (Topps, Upper Deck, etc...). I opened up the first of several football card packs that I had bought that day at the comic book / card trading store.

When I opened it up, the guy behind the counter said "Hey, you just got an error card!" (An error card in the trading card world is a huge find - I had a good error card of Jerry Rice, where they mistakenly printed John Taylor's picture on it). I looked at the card and was none other than Sammie Smith, #33. I didn't get it. Then the guy behind the counter went on to explain "Yeah, it's an error card because he's actually holding on to the football!!!". I was 13 and I didn't get it - but then I learned that the day before, he had a critical goal-line fumble (Against the Bills I think) that single-handedly cost the Dolphins the game.
