I've been critical of Mike Miller's play (or lack of) this year; but after a couple of solid games that may have made the difference against the Bulls, I'm becoming a fan.
This is good, because I really want to like Mike Miller as both a player and a person. I'm sure anyone who follows the Heat already knows this, but Miller's daughter was born during the Bulls series and spent the first several weeks of her life in ICU. She has been diagnosed with a heart defect. She was released from the hospital this weekend and is now home.
Miller has donated over 1.2 million dollars to a hospital in his home town, and to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. And here's the part of the story I like best - he did it all before his daughter was born. If there is such a thing as karma, I guess this is it.
