Was anyone actually picking them to do anything worthwhile this year?

I'm sure there are some misguided individuals in the DC area that think they can do something.   Wink  After all their competition is the Giants and Cowboys, not exactly teams knocking on the SuperBowl door.

I'm gonna say KC. Sorry all you KC fans, but Cassel has not looked good in preseason and their schedule just got a whole lot tougher. It's gonna be a long year.

I will restate my KC prediction from the other thread.  I see their ceiling at 7 wins.

Philadelphia might make the playoffs, but as we learned from the Shula years, spending an assload of money on expensive free agents usually results in a wildcard loss.

New England might have a down year.

The Jets aren't going to do shit this year.  They get the nod.

Pittsburgh may fall victim to the Team That Lost The Superbowl Curse.

Deion Sanders says that spending an assload of free agent money to pick up the best cornerback in the league is a good idea.

Well yeah what's he going to say?  "I'm sorry I took 35 million off Jerry Jones and aside from my first year there, Dallas hasn't done shit since?"

He did win them a Super Bowl.

1) '94 49ers?
2) If Asomugha only wins one Super Bowl for Philly, he will be the greatest free agent pickup in their history.

94 49ers: Already a damn good football team without Deion.
95 Cowboys: Already a damn good football team without Deion.

2010 Eagles: Barely a playoff contender only if Michael Vick plays lights out like he did last year.  Is anyone really expecting him to have a repeat of that?

'93 49ers: 10-6 team that loses in playoffs to eventual Super Bowl champs
'94 49ers: adds expensive free agent All-Pro cornerback, wins Super Bowl

'94 Cowboys: 12-4 team that loses in playoffs to eventual Super Bowl champs
'95 Cowboys: adds expensive free agent All-Pro cornerback, wins Super Bowl

'10 Eagles: 10-6 team that loses in playoffs to eventual Super Bowl champs
'11 Eagles: ?

And as for things that I expect to reoccur from last year, Michael Vick starting only 11 games is not one of them.  Put Steve Young or Troy Aikman on the bench for 5 games and see how well those 49ers/Cowboys teams do.

I'm sensing this is a theme with you...hating the media-hyped "Dream Teams" like the Eagles, Miami Heat, etc...

LOL I do because I get so sick of hearing about them I actually revel in watching them fail. I mean seriously the Heat had their own section on the ticker/bottom line on ESPN and their own snipet daily in the USA today. The only team I have ever seen get that treatment in my 12 years of reading the USA Today Sports section. It made me loathe that team even more. I like D Wade can not stand James and I have no feelings either way on Bosh.....but hearing about them daily just got fucking old. I can see the same thing happening with the Eagles this year and part of it is bitterness that they stold DRC and a 2nd round pick from the Cards for an unrpoven QB with worse numbers than Henne. So yeah I guess you could say there might be a theme there.

And yes I hate the Yankees and the Cowboys too!!!!!!  Wink
