Apparently instead of having 45 active players on gameday plus your "emergency third string QB"  you can now have 46 active players on gameday.
I'm still confused how this allows you to have only 2 active QB's on your roster. If your first and 2nd string QB's go down in a game, who plays QB? Can you play your QB from the practice squad if that happens?

Update: After reading a bit more, I guess some teams are just deciding that using that 46th active player as a 3rd string QB just isn't a good use of talent and would rather have another player over another QB. That means that should Miami lose both the starter and back-up QB in a game, they'll have to improvise. I believe that Thomas has played some QB in High School and has run some wild cat in college. I guess if that should happen we'll be running the wild cat on every down.

What are the odds that you're still in the game if your #1 AND #2 quarterbacks go down?

We won that game last year.

Yeah, and it actually happened two years ago as well if you count the Pat White Experience. I *think* we lost that one, though.

Still, in all likelihood, tying up a roster spot for a third quarterback is just wasting a spot.

I don't think it's a big deal, but unless you have a quarterback you want to bring in "situationally" (please no), I'm leaning towards getting another cornerback or whatever.

AS I predicted, Polite was cut today.

Heh I knew cutting Polite would come back to hurt us!  4th and half a yd and we go 3 wide... twice in the red zone we can't punch it in!  Why not let Larry Johnson try and punch it in?

Polite never had 1 TD in his 3 year Dolphins career. And that TD wasn't on a 1 yard dive! He never got goaline carries!

You keep bringing up carries... I'm talking about lead blocking!  A FB lead blocking is better than a nose guard lead blocking or no lead block!

You said he couldn't lead block I showed you otherwise... nobody picked him up because he's an old school FB not much of a threat to run or in the passing game!

You showed me 1 play. I give you an NFL Organization who cut him. And 31 other organizations who haven't signed him. I think my stance wins out over your 1 play! Roll Eyes

How many passed up on Kurt Warner as a QB before the Rams gave him a shot?  Just saying...

Hell, how many QB's have we passed on... etc...etc...

And it was two plays! Grin
